What is going on in Virginia? Most of the country has now heard about the Democrat, one Jay Jones, who is running to Attorney General in Virginia. Jay Jones is now infamous for the 2022 text messages he sent.
In those texts, the Democrat suggested that he would shoot then-Speaker of the House Todd Gilbert, a Republican, who deserved “two bullets to the head,” and attend slain Republicans’ funerals to “piss on their graves.”
When Republican Delegate Carrie Coyner questioned Jones on his comments, Jones doubled down saying that political violence is an effective tool. Jones went on to suggest that Gilbert’s children should be shot and killed so that the Republican might reconsider his position on the Second Amendment. He also told Republicans during the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020 that police officers may need to be killed in order to prevent racism.
This man wants to be the chief law enforcement officer in Virginia. This is sick. This is disgusting. It certainly appears that the Democrats should recognize that. The man should not be running for public office. There are enough sick and demented people in the general public without elevating one to the highest law enforcement job in Virginia.
One would think that it would be easy for the Democrats to condemn this and remove the man from the ballot. However, as we see with regularity, the Democrats not only do not do this but in many cases celebrate the violence they have engendered.
Democratic governor candidate Abigail Spanberger – a former CIA spook – refuses to say whether Jones should step aside. Her silence looks like cowardice. Then again, being a former CIA spook, perhaps her moral compass is different from most folks.
Lieutenant Governor candidate Ghazala Hashmi is faring no better. Hashmi dodges every question about Jones.
Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., is the latest Democrat official to double down on supporting Jones, despite the candidate’s violent rhetoric. Kaine, you might recall, ridiculed Riley Barnes, an assistant secretary of state, for her belief in God and in the natural rights of all people.
Kaine went on to try to equate the violent comments Jones made to Winsome Earle-Sears and her position against abortion. Earle-Sears rightly called abortion the murder of the most helpless among us.
This is not about politics although I am sure the Republicans are making hay over this. It is about decency. If a politician cannot condemn fantasies about killing children, that person does not belong in public office.
Jones is not a one off as recent events have shown us. Charlie Kirk was assassinated by a similarly deranged person. This was someone who believed that violence was the answer to political differences.
The recent “No Kings” paid protests saw a similarly deranged person try to kill a person because that person was wearing a red MAGA hat.
The Democrats support this kind of violence. This can be seen when one looks at Antifa, who are the brown shirts for the Nazi Democratic Party. Antifa regularly attacks anyone who is outside their political circle. Certain West Coast cities are breeding grounds for these types of people.
The Virginia Democrats are just another example of how far down the into the evil abyss the Democrat Party has plunged. The Democrats believe that they have the divine right of kings to rule over people. They do not believe they are accountable to anyone. They lost an election in 2024 and now they are lashing out at anyone who is not “with them.” The party of slavery is pouting.
Hopefully, Virginia voters are wising up to the evil that exists within the Democratic Party. If early voting is any indicator, the sleeping giant has been awakened. Republican precincts across southwest and central Virginia are showing higher engagement than at any point since 2021. The enthusiasm gap is enormous.
This bodes well for the future of our country.
