Berkeley TP USA… J6 Connection

The final event of the TP USA tour for this year was held recently at the Berkeley campus of the University of California.  Violent confrontations broke out between “protesters” and both police and attendees.  Because this is California where leftists can get away with almost anything, this is not surprising.

The country has witnessed months on end of violence in California directed toward ICE and its operations there.  These assaults would diminish and perhaps end if California law enforcement was allowed to do their job. However, the whole country knows that there is a different set of rules for those on the left in California.

Pam Bondi:

“The violent riots at UC Berkeley last night are under full investigation by the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force. We will continue to spare no expense unmasking all who commit and orchestrate acts of political violence.”

What is most interesting here is that there is a direct connection between Berkeley and the “J6 Insurrection.”

Who is this one might ask?  This is Yogananda Pittman who is now the UC Berkeley Chief of Police.  Ms. Pittman oversaw the chaos at the TP USA event last week.  As it turns out Ms. Pittman was assistant chief of Intelligence Operations for the US Capitol Police (USCP) back in 2021 during the famous “J6 Insurrection.”

Jack Cashill:

Pittman joined the USCP in 2001 and used her race and sex as leverage to finesse her way to the top intelligence job. She implied as much when she told the J6 Committee, “I am not an intelligence analyst, and that takes specific training and usually years of training. There’s a whole process and procedure to that. That is not my role.” Apparently not.

So, the person directly supervising the intelligence unit does not know how the job is supposed to be done!?  Just how ludicrous is that!  This would be like the person directly supervising NFL officials not knowing how they are supposed to do their jobs.  It seems to me that Ms. Pittman admitted to the whole country that she was a DEI hire.  Her presence in the police hierarchy was designed to check off a box on the diversity of the USCP staff.  Merit had little to nothing to do with her getting the job.

It was Pittman who led USCP Chief of Police Steve Sund to believe that the J6 rally would be relatively small perhaps a few tens of thousands.

Cashill:

Pittman knew better. As the House J6 committee reported, “On January 4th, Jack Donoghue, head of USCP’s intelligence unit, and his assistant director, Julie Farnam, briefed Capitol Police leadership, including Chief Gallagher and Chief Pittman (but not Chief Sund), about the January 3rd Threat Assessment.” Parentheses theirs. The two warned of “potentially a very dangerous situation,” but Sund was kept out of the loop.

Why was Sund kept out of the loop on the January 3rd intelligence assessment particularly since that assessment indicated a potentially dangerous situation?  Let’s be reminded that Sund was forced out of his job on January 7th by Nancy Pelosi for “intelligence failures.”

Cashill:

Despite the obvious intelligence failures on January 6, Pittman was named acting chief following Sund’s forced retirement.  For Pittman, no reform was more critical than to improve USCP’s diversity. As she told the FBI, “We have selected a diversity officer. That person will be reporting directly to the chief of police. And like I said previously for intelligence, we believe that the change starts at the top.” When asked by the J6 Committee about needed changes, she insisted on “keeping diversity in the forefront.”

So, merit was the furthest thing from Pittman’s mind.  Boxes needed to be checked and they would be during her tenure at the top of the USCP.  This led to a stunning 92% No Confidence vote by USCP officers.

Eventually UC Berkeley rescued Pittman from her job at USCP.  One might imagine that Nancy Pelosi might have had a hand in that event.

At Berkeley Pittman continued her DEI ways.

Cashill:

At Berkeley, Pittman applied herself to becoming a “change agent,” not for more law and order, but for fewer white men. Said Pittman in an introductory video, “I didn’t want any women to have to have the experiences that I had when I was oftentimes sitting in a room that was occupied by only white men, and some of them who thought that I didn’t deserve a seat at the table.”

Antifa turned Turning Point’s event at UC Berkeley in California into an absolute WARZONE.  This has happened during Pitman’s watch once again.  Based on her career history one might question if Pittman deserved a seat at any police table.

The country needs to return to merit-based order.  Putting incompetent people in charge of critical positions is getting people killed.
