Are trannies getting the boot by the Democratic Party? Only 3 of the almost two dozen 2028 potential Democratic presidential candidates responded to an Axios survey about transgender policies. And one of them, Rahm Emanuel, dared to just say no to boys in girls’ sports and no to the idea that a man can become a woman.
In the past Democrats broadly supported trans supposed “rights.” This included defining gender-affirming care as something that everyone should be entitled to. The Biden administration tried to equate gender with sex for Title IX purposes. The Supreme Court will weigh in on this issue this year when it decides a case involving two states that passed a law prohibiting trans girls from competing on girls’ sports teams.
The term “sex assigned at birth” was something seen everywhere. Advocates were trying to make it seem that sex is not the immutable characteristic that it is.
What is the world coming to? Why are the Democrats suddenly afraid to even discuss transgender policy issues?
Axios asked the following question:
Should transgender girls be able to participate in girls’ sports? Do you believe transgender youths under age 18 should be able to be placed on puberty blockers and hormones? And what is your response to the question: “Can a man become a woman?”
Why won’t Democrats go anywhere near these issues? Could it be that the Democrats find themselves on the wrong side of history again?
Just how far on the wrong side are the Democrats? While Americans oppose discrimination against trannies (56% to16%), Americans don’t want boys playing girls in sports (66/15). That’s another 80/20 issue that the Democrats are on the wrong side of.
How can the Democrats forge a path forward on this issue? Are the Democrats going to denounce tranny advocates? The likelihood of that is about the same as the likelihood that the Democrats will denounce the epic fraud by Somalis in Minnesota, Maine and the rest of the country.
A recent interview of Governor Newsom by Ben Shapiro illustrates the problem the Democrats have. From Axios:
Last week, California Gov. Gavin Newsom stumbled when conservative influencer Ben Shapiro pressed him on the topic on Newsom’s podcast.
“The question that you’re not wanting to answer is whether boys can become girls,” Shapiro said.
“Yeah, I just, well, I think, uh, for the grace of God,” Newsom replied.
The uncomfortable moment for Newsom—a longtime advocate for LGBTQ—came 10 months after he was criticized by LGBTQ advocates for saying it was “unfair” for transgender girls and women to compete in female sports.
Here’s the problem for the Democrats. Prior to last year’s election, they believed that they controlled the tribalism in the country. They believed that they could pit one group against another and make it look like they were the only answer to the country’s problems.
But 2024 killed the tranny movement. That is because the American people have had it with the insufferable pronoun people who want to toss you in prison if you don’t acquiesce to their demands. This was a direct attack on freedom of speech and the freedom to think differently.
Ending the Bill of Rights is still on the Democrats’ agenda. However, at this point in time, too many everyday people have seen through the smokescreen. Only fools who are anti-American and weak-minded still cater to the Democratic playbook.
So, for now, it appears that the Democrats will discard the tranny movement since most of the country is on the other side of the issue. At least there will be fewer children who are mutilated on the Democratic altar of wokeness.
