Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has announced a new program for encouraging whistleblowers to come forward with information on fraud that has been committed against the American taxpayer. This program builds on past programs where whistleblowers are rewarded financially for exposing illegal acts that have defrauded our government.
There is now a direct financial incentive to blow the whistle on waste, abuse and theft of taxpayer money. Let’s be reminded that current estimates are that up to a trillion dollars of such felonious activities are ongoing.
The incentive is not miniscule. Whistleblowers would receive from 10% to 30% of the fines levied.

This is how one exposes systemic fraud quickly. Financial incentives can help to make the wheels of justice move a lot quicker.
What this means is that people on the inside who have documented evidence will come forward. Employees who saw the schemes at work. Contractors who know where the money went. All of these people now have a reason to come forward.
Of course, initially there will be hesitation. Whistleblowers during the Biden administration were scapegoated, lost promotions, were given poor reviews, etc. However, once a few come forward and are compensated, the floodgates will open.
This could be a nightmare for some high-level politicians whose net worth rose dramatically after they got elected to Congress. DOGE is no longer their biggest fear. It is people who might be on their payroll who will now get paid to talk.
