Recently NY Governor Kathy Hochul came out to talk about “common sense” gun laws. Hochul said that one could no longer buy handguns in NY that could be converted into semi-automatic weapons capable of firing 1200 rounds per minute. It is not clear if Hochul was referencing a recently passed piece of legislation or just a proposed one or perhaps some new regulation.
Hochul seems to be a bit confused about what she is trying to do or actually did.

Now I am no expert when it comes to guns but I have never heard of a gun that has such capabilities. Is this some kind of belt-fed handgun? I cannot imagine a handgun having some massive drum attached to it. How heavy would such a weapon be?
Let’s be reminded that Hochul was talking about a semi-automatic weapon. That means a lot of trigger pulls to achieve the stated capability.
It is amazing to hear some of the words that come out of gun grabbers’ mouths like hers. Did her speech writer just string some words together and demonstrate that he/she is just as ignorant as Hochul when it comes to guns? Hochul obviously believes she has done something momentous here. I wonder if Hochul got any feedback about how ridiculous this speech was.
