Is Massive Inflation Just Ahead?

Comments Off on Is Massive Inflation Just Ahead?

Are we headed to inflation the likes of which we have not seen since the Carter administration?  April saw an increase of 0.8% in the Consumer Price Index after a 0.6% increase in March.  The BLS reports a year over year increase of 4.2%.  Keep in mind that a third of that increase came in the last two months.  This inflation rate is three times the rate under the PDJT administration.  [Top Line Data Here – Detailed Sector Data Here].  I would not be surprised to see inflation hit 6% or higher this year.

A leading cause of these increases have been massive increases in energy costs.  Gasoline is up 49.6% year over year.  And this was before the spike in many areas of the country due to the ransomware attack on the Colonial Pipeline.  Fuel oil was up 37.3% year over year.  There are areas of the country where the increases are in the 70-90% range.

Higher gas prices hit the middle class the hardest.  It also causes an increase in the price of transporting goods particularly food.  Keep in mind that these data points are six weeks old.  They do not reflect recent upswings in energy prices.  Significant increases in the price of food will be the result in the months ahead.

Things that Make You Go…Hmm

In the trial for Derek Chauvin over George Floyd’s drug overdose death, one of the issues is the so-called tolerance to higher and higher doses of the drugs in question.  Keep in mind that Floyd had more than three times what was considered a fatal dose in his system.  An addict who is using regularly needs more and more of the drug in question to experience the “sweet spot” high that he/she was able to achieve more easily when he/she first started using.  However, the body’s tolerance to the depression of the respiratory system does not move in lockstep with the “high” effect.  Thus the window of “safe” drug use becomes smaller and smaller before the respiratory system becomes overwhelmed and stops working.

Addicts who are irregular users (was George Floyd one of these?) can be much more likely to overdose because they will not know just what they need to achieve the desired drug effect.  Fentanyl is particularly problematic in this regard.

The Biden-Harris administration (yes, it’s official now.  The Democrats are beginning the transition to a Harris Presidency) is shutting down the southwest end of the National Mall around the Tidal Basin during two-week peak cherry blossom time.

Why you might ask?  It is being done so that the public will not walk around in the sunshine and fresh air to view the annual spectacle.  Apparently cherry blossoms are a particularly nasty spreader of the COVID-19 virus (sarc).

The Jefferson, MLK and FDR memorials will also be closed to keep the public away from the nasty cherry blossoms.

Sydney Powell Explosive Interview

Comments Off on Sydney Powell Explosive Interview

On Thursday, Sydney Powel  did an explosive interview carried on BEK TV with Doug Billings.  Powell touched on a variety of topics.  The common thread on these topics is the very dark side of American politics that Powell claims powers much of the evil that we see in Washington and elsewhere.

Doug Billings asked Powell about why Bill Barr let us down and did not pursue legal cases/investigations about election fraud Ms. Powell responded: “frankly I think it is something much darker than that.”

Insurrection!

Democrat supporters “stormed” the Georgia State Capitol on Monday after legislators passed a Voter ID requirement for absentee ballots.

The usual culprits advanced the idea that requiring someone to prove who they are is somehow contrary to basic American values concerning free and fair elections.  MSM reporting claimed that voter access was being “rolled back”.  No one in the MSM explained how this was so.  Everyone who could vote previously will still be able to vote.

The problem for the Democrats is that this makes it harder to cheat.

Something to really think about…

    I found these numbers interesting.

As reported by the CDC … Here are the US deaths by year and the change from the previous year.

Year 2017:    2,818,503 Americans died

Year 2018:   2,839,205 deaths (20,702 more than the previous year 2017)

Random Idiocy

There are legitimate concerns over the use of artificial intelligence.  While it is a great labor saver, there are situations when its abilities are somewhat constrained.

Steve Sailer has an interesting example over at unz.com.

“We hear much about the menace posed by racist robots, but mighty Google appears to have succeeded in inventing artificial intelligence with the natural stupidity of a professor of intersectionality.

“Late last year, a YouTuber who produces popular chess videos found that his channel was blocked over charges of ‘harmful and dangerous’ content.  Even though the channel was restored within 24 hours, YouTube did not explain why it had blocked Croatian chess player Antonio Radic, also known as ‘Agadmator,’ from its platform briefly, the Dailymail reported.”

Experts who viewed the comments section theorize that it was words like “white,” “black,” “attack,” and “threat” that caused Google AI filters to think that the comments were racist.  A test of several hundred thousand chess comments revealed that AI software flagged an overwhelming majority (82%) of them as problematic.

Breitbart reports that our pretend President went to Walter Reed hospital on Friday to visit some of the wounded members of the Armed Forces.

Biden noted,

“These kids are amazing. And thank God there’s not as many people to visit.”

I’m sure God was in the mix but the primary reason that there are not many to visit is President Trump not starting any new wars while he was in office.  I wonder how long that will last.
