According to the BLS Establishment survey, 528,000 jobs were added in July. This is more than double the expectations of the so-called experts. Gazprom, the Russian company that supplies natural gas to much of Europe, recently took their NordStream 1 pipeline down for routine maintenance. This is something that they do regularly in the summer and it was a scheduled event. There was much dithering among the media if the pipeline would be turned back on after the maintenance was complete. It wasn’t but not because Russia decided not to.
