Are politics behind the hordes of migrants heading north in Mexico towards the United States? Do the Democrats expect to enroll thousands of more voters by any means once they are here?
At the end of the week Mexico made a generous offer of political asylum, along with jobs, medical care, and benefit packages to the migrants. According to the AP, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto announced the launch of what’s called the “You are at home” plan Friday in an address directed at migrants. He said migrants would be able to access medical attention, schooling and jobs.
To qualify they must be in the southern states of Oaxaca or Chiapas; the caravan is currently in the latter. Migrants must also apply for refuge with the National Migration Institute.
Pena Nieto said the plan “is only for those who fulfill Mexican laws and is a first step toward a permanent solution for those who obtain refugee status in Mexico.”
After meeting with the coordinators (paid leaders?) of this mass migration, the migrants said thanks but no thanks. They intended to head north and confront PDJT. As Monica Showalter reported:
It has been reported by various news outlets that some smaller groups have been spinning off from the main horde. Apparently this is because of the presence of many gang members and other undesirables in the main group. The main group brutalized the Mexican police when they crossed into Mexico.
Assaults and rapes have gone up. They are stealing from shops in the small towns that they pass through. They are leaving a huge mess behind them wherever they go. And the Democrats want these people in our country.
What will be the effect if they ever enter this country? Their presence would be bad for unemployed and underemployed Americans, especially minorities. They would depress the wage rate for low-skilled labor at a time when wages are rising. So it would appear that the Democrats once again would be pulling the rug out from under the feet of some of their voting base. This would certainly increase income inequality.
Social service providers who are finally seeing some relief from the nightmares of the Obama years would once again become overburdened. The criminal justice system would see an increase in issues to be dealt with. And the U.S. taxpayers would have to fund all of this.
All the migrants noted that their main objective is to find employment. But being unemployed back home or seeking the proverbial better life doesn’t qualify as a valid asylum claim. As reported at Personal Liberty, when they reach immigration court, most asylum claims are denied. In 2016, Mexico’s denial rate was 89.6 percent; El Salvador, 82.9 percent; Honduras, 80.3 percent and Guatemala, 77.2 percent.
Migrants seeking a better life need to follow the legal route for immigration. This allows American authorities to weed out the undesirables. Once here they need to assimilate into our country and become Americans. They should not be leeches on our way of life.
