Yesterday Patrick Byrne, CEO of Overstock.com, resigned his position. Now CEO’s do leave their companies from time to time. However, few if any CEO’s have done so for the reasons Byrne put forth.
Byrne has led the company for 20 years. In 1999, Byrne was approached by the founder of D2-Discounts Direct with a request for operating capital. Byrne found the idea of online closeouts intriguing, and invested $7 million for a 60 percent equity stake in the company in the spring of 1999. In September the same year he took over as CEO, and the following month the company was renamed Overstock.com.
According to Patrick Byrne, due to earlier relationships with federal law enforcement (17 years ago…helped to snare the murderer of a friend and 12 years ago…helped with a Wall Street investigation), he was approached in/around 2015 to help out the FBI with another operation.
As he indicates, he felt there was something fishy about the operation. However, the people who approached him he felt were honorable. It was only several years later that he figured out where the orders had come from.
Byrne has come forward now because he was told and also feels strongly that Bill Barr believes in the rule of law. Byrne has resigned in order to protect the company and its shareholders.
The highlights:
- What Byrne was involved in, was part of a network of political surveillance being conducted by the FBI on presidential candidates.
- Byrne named Hillary Clinton, Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Ted Cruz and PDJT as the four candidates either under FBI surveillance and/or inside a political espionage operation.
- Byrne indicates that other whistle blowers have come forward.
- Byrne named FBI Agent Peter Strzok as the person giving the orders.
- Byrne claims he was offered a $1 billion bribe to keep his mouth shut. Yes, that’s a ‘B’ as in billion.
Byrne feels that the deep divisions in the country have been partly driven by this FBI operation. He agonizes over the fact that he may in some way share some responsibility for a man driving 600 miles to shoot up a mall. As a result, Byrne feels an obligation to share the truth in order to help America understand what was going on..
There is clearly much more that Byrne alludes to but cannot talk about at this point in time.
The video is 16 minutes long.
The storm cometh!
