Democracy Needs Religion

This is very thought provoking.

Our democracy / society needs to believe in rules and order that is beyond the laws of the government to survive as a republic and a democracy.

When the common sense of right and wrong is lost so is our future.

Witness what we saw in Chicago with Jussie Smollett or any of the more than 300 other hoax hate crimes that have been committed in this country in the last two years. How about the college entrance scandal? What message were those parents sending to their children by doing this? The message clearly was that winning is the only thing that matters. It does not matter what you do to achieve the win.

The same thing was true about the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings in 2018.  Character assassination of a good man was deemed okay because it advanced the agenda of one group of people.  What was morally right or wrong was irrelevant.  What about all those people who shoot up churches, synagogues, mosques, schools, night clubs, malls, etc.?

One can ask what is happening in our country? It is clear that the common sense understanding of what is right and what is wrong has been lost by these people.  When people are attacked violently for believing in the founding principles of this country, it is clear that evil has taken over the souls of the attackers.

This increasing loss of the understanding of right and wrong is occurring while Christianity and Judaism are under constant attack in this country.  This is not coincidental.  When people who are religious are denigrated for being so (“bitter clingers”) at the highest levels of our society, when being religious is looked upon as some Neanderthal relic of an earlier time, the social fabric of the country is being destroyed.

The video is only 90 seconds long. The last sentence says it all.
