Media Bias Reaches New Low

While I have talked numerous times here about media bias, I am still astounded occasionally by the new lows that so called “unbiased” media personalities will stoop to in order to disparage PDJT.  Last week after the President’s address to the country, Lawrence O’Donnell of the flailing MSNBC network (how many viewers have they lost in the last three years?) reached a new low water mark.

This says a lot considering that once again PDJT was called a racist and a xenophobe by many media types over on the far left for calling the Wuhan virus a foreign virus.  This ignores the fact that it is common practice to associate new diseases with the site of its first major outbreak.  Examples include the West Nile Virus, Guinea Worm, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lyme Disease, Ross River Fever, Omsk Hemorrhagic Fever, Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), Valley Fever, German Measles and Spanish Flu.

But falsely calling PDJT a racist has been done so many times that it is losing its shock value.  O’Donnell needed to set a new standard for false and malicious reporting.

Yes, this is really what O’Donnell said.  He is laying American coronavirus deaths at the President’s feet.  Let’s compare this pandemic to the last one, H1N1, also known as swine flu.  By the way where were the animal rights activists to complain about the civil rights of pigs being violated by using such a name?

Two months into the H1N1 outbreak, 43,677 people were infected and 302 people had died.  Four months into the current pandemic on March 13th when PDJT declared a national emergency, there were 1,629 cases and 48 people had died.  By the time President Obama declared a national emergency, millions of people in the United States have been infected, at least 20,000 have been hospitalized and more than 1,000 have died, said Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

President Obama was praised for his response to the outbreak.  President Trump has been maligned at every turn.

Regardless of one’s political views, O’Donnell’s statements are wildly irresponsible.  This kind of malicious, hate-filled “reporting” has no place in responsible journalism.  If someone at MSNBC had said this about President Obama, that person would have been banned for life from any job within the MSM world.  I won’t hold my breath waiting for that to happen to O’Donnell.
