On Monday shortly after 5 PM Eastern Time, the earth stood still. There was a disruption in the space-time continuum when PDJT revealed to reporters he is taking the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) in an effort to prevent getting the Wuhan virus. PDJT indicated that he has been taking a pill every day for about a week and a half. Reporters were stunned.
“I think it’s good. I’ve heard a lot of good stories. And, if it’s not good, I’ll tell you right, I’m not going to get hurt by it.”
PDJT is taking HCQ with zinc under prescription from the White House physician. PDJT indicated that he is taking the drug as a preventative. PDJT noted that many frontline workers in the battle against the virus are doing the same thing.
Indiana Rep. Larry Bucshon, a physician, told Fox News,
“I’m not passing judgment on whether it should be used or not. Studies need to be completed. I can tell you that many doctors in the real world are using it off label for COVID-19.”
Needless to say, progressive bobbleheads all over the MSM airwaves exploded. Neil Cavuto tried to induce panic.
“If you are in a risky population here, and you are taking this as a preventative treatment… it will kill you.”
No equivocation there. This is what I would characterize as fear porn. By spreading fear and misinformation about a successful treatment, one that is affordable and with little risk, lives have been and will continue to be lost – needlessly.
I wonder where Cavuto obtained his medical degree. If his statement were true, then why is this drug routinely prescribed for conditions like lupus and arthritis? Those are not life-threatening conditions for the most part. Why is the drug routinely prescribed as a prophylactic to healthy Americans who are going to be traveling abroad in areas where malaria is present?
Dr. Fauci’s NIH-sister agency CDC found that HCQ inhibited SARS-CoV replication in 2004. That virus, aka the SARS virus, is a very close cousin of the Wuhan virus, aka SARS-CoV-2. Why has Dr. Fauci never mentioned this salient fact to the public?
I think that a question that needs to be asked here is the following:
Why is Dr. Fauci, the head of the NIH, pushing for a clinical trial for remdesivir, a hideously expensive drug with significant deleterious side effects, and not one for HCQ with zinc where the side effects are minimal and the prescription cost is in the tens of dollars?
One final note. It is interesting to watch the President at work. With this announcement, PDJT just ran one of the most successful infomercials in the history of planet Earth. And he did not spend one cent to do so.
