This week the White House publicly admitted that they have a Ministry of Truth. Press secretary Jen Psaki announced that the administration was identifying “problematic” posts on Facebook so that they could be removed.
On Friday Psaki defended the administration’s policy. As all dictators have done since the dawn of time, Psaki noted it was for the “good of the people” that they did this.
It is clear that the White House wants all speech banned unless it comes from an approved outlet or the Dems on Capitol Hill. Of course, most of us have known about this approach to truth for some time. The collusion of Big Media and Big Tech with the government has been obvious since PDJT came down the escalator in Trump Tower in June, 2015. There may be no obvious point where such major collusion started. However, the horrific disaster of flight TWA 800 on July 17, 1996 off the south shore of Long Island is as good a starting place as any.
The history of this disaster is as follows:
Twenty-five years ago today, on the evening of July 17, 1996, flight TWA 800 crashed off the south shore of Long Island killing all 230 good people on board. 53 of them were TWA employees. The flight was headed to Paris. The crash was witnessed by hundreds of people enjoying a warm summer evening outdoors. The FBI, who illegally took over the investigation, interviewed more than 700 witnesses. 258 eyewitnesses saw a rising streak of light and 56 followed that light from the horizon to the plane.
These agents included members of the FBI’s missile team. Within two weeks of the disaster, FBI agents had interviewed 144 “excellent” eyewitnesses to a likely missile strike. The evidence for such a strike was “overwhelming.”
Today, much of the country (but not airline pilots) believe that an explosion in a center fuel tank on the airliner was the cause of the crash. This was the result of the “investigation” after four years. This is still the officially-stated cause of the crash. Despite this conclusion, no Boeing 747 was ever grounded as a result. Why? What happened?
Jack Cashill has produced a documentary about the flight and has written two books on the disaster. His second book is considered to be the definitive work on this subject.
Jack recently noted:
As to my own involvement with this story, until the evening of February 23, 2000, I was as naïve as a CNN anchor. Before that evening, I would have dismissed out of hand anyone who dared suggest that elements of the FBI and CIA would conspire with the White House and the New York Times to cover up the cause of so public a disaster.
On February 23rd, 2000, Cashill attended a presentation by one Jerome Sanders, an investigative reporter. This would begin a relationship that would lead Jack deep into all aspects of the disaster and resulting investigation.
Cashill related:
One documentary and two books later, I can say with 100 percent confidence that missile fire destroyed TWA Flight 800. I can say with 95 percent confidence that the U.S. Navy fired those missiles. As James Sanders will attest, I resisted that latter conclusion until the evidence overwhelmed me. I did not want to believe it to be true.
Sound familiar? Many of us do not want to believe that multiple organizations were involved in the massive election fraud now being proved across the country. Arizona is only the first of many dominos.
One example of the evil that was at work in 1996 concerns Witness #73. Witness #73, a woman, was arguably the single most important eyewitness.
Cashill reported:
According to her FBI 302, Witness 73 “observed an aircraft climbing in the sky, traveling from her right to her left.” This would have been from the west, JFK airport in New York City, towards the east, eventually Paris, the original destination of TWA 800.
“While keeping her eyes on the aircraft,” the FBI report continued, “she observed a ‘red streak’ moving up from the ground toward the aircraft at an approximately 45 degree angle. The ‘red streak’ was leaving a light gray colored smoke trail. The ‘red streak’ went passed [sic] the right side and above the aircraft before arcing back toward the aircraft’s right wing.”
“She never took her eyes off the aircraft during this time,” the 302 continued. “At the instant the smoke trail ended at the aircraft’s right wing, she heard a loud sharp noise which sounded like a firecracker had just exploded at her feet. She then observed a fire at the aircraft followed by one or two secondary explosions which had a deeper sound. She then observed the front of the aircraft separate from the back. She then observed burning pieces of debris falling from the aircraft.”
Weeks before the FBI and the NTSB were able to piece together the break-up sequence of the aircraft, Witness 73 had nailed it. According to a later FBI 302, however, when agents went back to Witness 73 for a second interview, she admitted she had been drinking “Long Island Iced Teas” before the crash and wasn’t quite sure what she had seen.
The problem? Witness #73 did not drink. She had no idea what a Long Island Iced Tea was. The second interview was created out of whole cloth. It never took place. Its sole purpose was to discredit her eyewitness testimony. And she was not the only one that this happened to. At least two other excellent eyewitnesses had their testimony discredited using different techniques.
Again, doesn’t this sound familiar? The entire Russia collusion Special Counsel investigation was built around reports created out of whole cloth. This was the Deep State at work just as it was in 1996.
In 1996, a story that the plane was shot down by a missile might have doomed Bill Clinton’s chances at second term. Those in power could not allow this to happen. So different scenarios were invented to explain the tragedy. The intelligence services were actively involved in creating them.
The first was that a bomb had gone off in the cabin. The NYTimes ran with this story at the request of the FBI for a number of weeks. However, even this was problematic. They then decided to switch to mechanical failure. They tried to explain away explosive residue that had been found by saying it was left over from a training exercise for dogs. That was easily disproven. However, the public’s interest was waning and, with endless repetition, the Big Lie, mechanical failure, slowly took hold in the public’s consciousness.
Eventually the story moved to the backburner. Appearances were kept up to try to “find” the cause. Millions were spent when the cause was undoubtedly known to those who mattered from the first day of the investigation. Finally, in 2000, a cause was announced. A stray spark in the center fuel tank. This was never replicated under any scenario. No Boeing 747 was ever grounded. All pilots know why.
We have seen this over and over with the Democrats. Stall, delay and obfuscate. Eventually the public will move on to other things.
And what happened to Jerome Sanders and his wife? They were eventually convicted of crimes in federal court.
Cashill notes:
At one of the numerous memorial services, Elizabeth introduced James to Terry Stacey, a 747 manager, and pilot who was working on the investigation.
“We need to talk,” Stacy told Sanders. And so began a relationship that would end with James and Elizabeth being convicted of conspiracy in a federal court. Elizabeth’s crime? Introducing her husband to her friend—it went no deeper than that. James’s crime? Reporting that the U.S. Navy had inadvertently shot down TWA 800—it went no deeper than that. Meeting Elizabeth and hearing her story was what opened my eyes. A government that arrested and tried Elizabeth could arrest my wife, my sister, my daughter.
This is how the Left works. They will do anything to maintain power. We saw that recently when the DOJ was threatening people involved in America’s Audit in Arizona with potential indictments for civil rights crimes. If you go after these people, they will try to ruin you one way or another. Suppressing any and all dissent is a priority with these people.
Another example is the number of people rotting away in DC jails because they took a stroll through the Capitol Building on January 6th. This led to incarceration without bail for what at most was trespassing! This is ludicrous but it is who they are. As Cashill said, the Left has weaponized our government against anyone who disagrees with its policies. The only way to be safe is to bow down and kiss the jack boots of these people.
July 17, 2021 is the 25th anniversary of those who lost their lives on the ill-fated flight. It is also the 25th anniversary of a clear demarcation in how our government works and who it works for. And it is not for We The People.
