Speeches vs Reality

As anyone who has been following the news out of Australia knows, the suppression of basic human rights has been going on for some time.  In particular, this past week the police in Melbourne have been engaging in a brutal suppression of a people right to peacefully protest.  The Australian Prime Minister spoke at the UN about the need for and support for basic human rights last week. The incongruity of a speech vs reality is remarkable.

Someone has taken the time to post Morrison’s words over the reality on the ground in Australia.

Anyone saying Australia is fine has his/her head in the sand and is spouting fake news.  Bashing citizens for no crime is happening far and wide.  As Morrison pointed out, Australia is one of eight that signed up for the international human rights.  Where is Morrison as the states ignore and obliterate human rights of anyone who opposes what the states are doing?  Why is Morrison pushing the jab when India on his side of the world has demonstrated the way out of this mess?  And BTW would this brutal suppression of the people be taking place if Australia had not moved to disarm their citizens a few years back?

China released a global weapon against freedom-loving people.  People in power found COVID to be a weapon to control the people.  Australia is now mirroring what China did in Wuhan more than a year ago.  It reflects the actions taken in Hong Kong months ago.

Australia’s actions are encouraging the re-imposition of various mandates here in America.  Seven states have put various restrictions in place again to “stop the spread.”  In NYC, the mayor has divided the city into the haves and have-nots.  If you are a have-not (unvaxxed), you are a second-class citizen who is not permitted to participate in normal society.

NYC is not the only city and state to do this.  In Connecticut the have-nots are supposed to wear a mask everywhere.  Charlotte, NC recently decided to require masks in churches for everyone.  There are a multitude of other examples across the country.  None of this is based on science.  There are no gold-plated studies that show that the masks seen in everyday use stop the spread of an airborne virus.

The media calls COVID a pandemic of the unvaccinated.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Breakthrough cases are endemic at this point in time.  The vaxxed are more likely to spread COVID than the unvaxxed.  Yet the have-nots are being excluded from society.  This is typical Democratic strategy to pit one group against another.

All of this points to an underlying fear of the politicians that they are losing control of the public.  There is a rising anger across America.  All law enforcement people that I have spoken with concur.  Clearly this is the case in Australia as the anger has bubbled over onto the streets.

This is a dangerous time for our country.  I have no problem with those who have perpetrated this evil on the country from being brought to ultimate justice.  However, there is an ugliness here that may not be containable to just those involved.  Payback can become a bloodlust that sweeps up everyone in its path.  The longer that this evil continues, the more anger that will be unleashed later.

What is the best path forward?
