Did GoFundMe just commit business suicide? The question needs to be asked after they tried to re-direct the donations that were headed to the Canadian Freedom Convoy. They proposed to re-distribute to money to charities of choice. Why? Because they decided that the Freedom Convoy was engaged in illegal activities. They weren’t. This action by GFM ignores all the money that was raised through GoFundMe for people who rioted, looted, burned and otherwise destroyed cities in America during 2020. The Freedom Convoy was having none of that. However, they were a threat to the leftist political hierarchy in Canada. And for that they must be cancelled.
GoFundMe decided that they would be the vehicle for destroying the freedom fighters in Canada. Their woke CEO probably thought this would get him invites to all the woke cocktail parties. They had distributed approximately $1 million of the $10 million that had been raised when they decided to become heroes to those in Canada who are trying to turn Canada into a communist country. Actually, they were just being a good communist business giving the government what they wanted without any consideration as to how that would be seen by the public. If a donor wanted a refund, it could be requested. Otherwise, the money would be distributed to charity.

Following a review of relevant facts and multiple discussions with local law enforcement and city officials, this fundraiser is now in violation of our Terms of Service (Term 8, which prohibits the promotion of violence and harassment) and has been removed from the platform.
Keep in mind that the same GoFundMe supported the Seattle “occupation” in 2020 known as CHAZ/CHOP.

Hey everyone!
I live in the Ottawa National Capital Region. My adult son and I were up at the Parliament Buildings and surrounds last Saturday, the 29th, Sunday, the 30th and today, Saturday, Feb 5th. for the Freedom Convoy protest. I am joyous to report there were MASSIVE crowds of very friendly and positive people of all ages and NO MASKS!!! It has been bitterly cold here, but we could not be stopped. The fake news has been relentless with their slandering of the truckers and their supporters.
I have to be honest – it took courage to go today. We thought there would be confrontations with counter protesters or worse. Instead it was a wonderful atmosphere. The police had NOTHING to do! When we looked down access streets they were jammed with people for as far as the eye could see at mid-afternoon. There are hundreds and hundreds of trucks lining designated streets. There is a hope and a resolve in the air. We were able to talk to some of the truckers parked on the street in front of Parliament to tell them that GoFundMe was refunding contributors automatically. My son received his refund this morning. He immediately tried to donate to the new site, but it is overwhelmed. We know the amount will surge in good time.
The truckers are entrenched and encouraged by all the support they are receiving. The local towing services have issued a statement they will not help tow the trucks. Tens and tens of thousand of regular people will come out over and over again to show our support for the truckers. As the temperature gets milder the crowds will grow even more.
The Canadian government calls this a violent and illegal protest. These are swastikas according to Trudeau.
GFM’s action resulted an immediate and severe backlash from the public. Facing legal action, U.S. state lawsuits and massive charge-back fees from outraged donors contesting refunds through their banks and credit cards, GoFundMe had an overnight change in position:
We The People are speaking and doing so loudly. The communist overlords in Canada may oust the Freedom Convoy from the streets of Ottawa but they cannot put the genie back in the bottle.
GFM has been exposed as a far left business that thinks nothing of appropriating funds in their custody for other purposes. Remember GFM is merely a custodian for the funds that are deposited with them. It is time to cancel GoFundMe. No one should ever make a donation through this business again. Their refusal to support freedom and liberty should relegate them to the dustbin of history.

There’s a lesson to be learned here: Never underestimate the power of peaceful protest. By simply gathering several thousand people and the trucks that they drive, these protesters have sent the PM of the great nation of Canada scurrying for shelter, gathered support from around the globe, and now they have turned major financial institutions on their ear as GFM exposes themselves as who they really are, and causes them to fall on their sword.
It’s not just the dollar amount here. It’s the sheer volume of people that made those donations. How many bank/credit card companies now must process a refund? Talk about a force multiplier! Everyone that wanted to pass off these protestors as just a small band of simpletons that refuse to comply with some program have been shown that when push gets to shove it’s the people that do run things.
