Gazprom, the Russian company that supplies natural gas to much of Europe, recently took their NordStream 1 pipeline down for routine maintenance. This is something that they do regularly in the summer and it was a scheduled event. There was much dithering among the media if the pipeline would be turned back on after the maintenance was complete. It wasn’t but not because Russia decided not to.

Gazprom has declared a “force majeure” event with regard to NordStream 1.
Allegedly the customers have “rejected” this declaration, which is idiotic: You don’t request force majeure, you declare it.
The definition of such an event is an external act not of your own making, and for which there is no commercially-reasonable mitigation.
And what act would that be here? It turns out that turbines sent to Canada for maintenance and refurbishing are being held hostage by Canada. Trudeau has cited sanctions as the reason. So, the odds of the possibility of Europe being cold and hungry this winter are increasing. And this can be directly laid at Trudeau’s feet.
Do the people who lead these countries ever think at all about what is going on outside their little sandbox?
What happens next? The West (WEF) is at war with Russia. Ukraine just happens to be the battlefield. Their pols are being bribed to continue the war.
The West believes they are fighting a technologically inferior opponent. This is not true. The West is losing. Russia will own the eastern provinces that are 60+% ethnic Russian. Ukraine should accept this and move to make peace with Russia.
Russia could freeze Europe this winter. Being reliant on Russia for strategically necessary materials is stupid. PDJT told them this when he was President. They did not listen. Now they are between a rock and a hard place.
It is time to end this foolish exercise in Ukraine.
