Is America’s proxy war with Russia getting hotter? A US spy drone (MQ-9) was forced down by Russian fighter jets over the Black Sea while engaged in “routine operations.”
The MQ-9 drone was brought down in international waters after its propeller was struck by one of two Russian Su-27 aircraft that conducted an “unsafe and unprofessional intercept,” US European Command (EUCOM) said in a statement. According to EUCOM, the incident demonstrated a lack of competence on the part of the Russian fighter jets.
I think a lack of competence would have resulted in both aircraft crashing. The Russian fighter jet returned to its base.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby vowed the incident would not prevent the US military from continuing its work in the region. Hmm. And just what is that work? So far Russia has not exercised kinetic operations against the countries that have been supplying Ukraine with weapons. How long can that restraint last? Is this a test?
