Much debate has swirled around Governor Ron DeSantis and his bona fides. Is he for real? That is, will he represent the people if he advances to higher office or will he be another puppet of the Deep State? An interesting development in Florida may hint at an answer to that question.
As most of us are probably aware, DeSantis went to war with Disney over Disney’s attempts to support the grooming of children in school. Specifically, Disney had come out against the so-called “Don’t’ Say Gay” legislation that prohibited classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity to children younger than third grade. Such instruction is geared toward grooming children into various sexual perversions. The word gay does not appear anywhere in the legislation.
The law takes away some of the powers that Disney had over the 38.5 square miles that they controlled. The oversight board was re-structured with five individuals who are clearly more conservative in their outlook on life.
The problem:
It turns out the Reedy Creek district, knowing they were being removed by the Florida Legislature and Governor, entered into extremely long contracts with modification clauses that are effectively perpetual, thus nullifying in large part the legislation. On point, until all descendants of King Charles III of England have become deceased.
Was DeSantis unaware that such actions could be taken? Contracts and legislation often contain what are known as stand still clauses that make such actions void. There was no such clause in the Florida law. Why? Was this incompetence on the part of DeSantis and his staff? Or was it intentional?
Has DeSantis manipulated the people by claiming to stand up for them (and rake in campaign donations) while knowing all along that Disney would wiggle out from under the law? Was the public played?
In evaluating this situation, take a look at the theatre surrounding the Trump indictment. DeSantis said that Florida would not assist in the extradition of Trump. DeSantis has no involvement. He is not issuing the warrant, New York is. He cannot block it. Again this just appears to be DeSantis trying to stem the bleeding of his support for his presidential aspirations. In other words, DeSantis appears to be manipulating the public again.
So, who controls Ron DeSantis?
