Discussion around the potential impeachment of Joe Biden is ramping up in many places. As has been stated before, impeachment is a political action. Obviously there should be valid reasons for engaging in such an action. However, at least three times in our nation’s history, it was just that, a political action.
The impeachment of Andrew Johnson in 1868 was a battle between a Congress that had a supermajority in one party. That party did not like some of the things Johnson was doing. Specifically Johnson was for Lincoln’s approach to the re-integration of the South into the Union. That was a far easier process than congressional Republicans wanted to take.
The others that did not have a valid basis, that is high crimes and misdemeanors, were of PDJT. Those impeachments were all about the moneyed classes not liking that PDJT stood up for the majority of Americans. PDJT was curtailing the access to public money that many corporations were utilizing.
Impeachment is supposed to be about criminality. Does that apply to Joe Biden? As some would say, in spades, both as VP and as President.
It uses up political capital to engage in an impeachment. The question is who would have to use up more capital if Biden were impeached? Biden’s impeachment would probably be the only wholly worthy one in the last 50 years. Yes, Clinton did perjure himself but his actions pale in comparison to Biden.
Another problem here is that Biden’s apparent corruption was well known in Washington. Biden should never have been put in the Oval Office. However, the fact that he is there speaks volumes about the utterly corrupt and self-serving people who inhabit Washington. Could a conviction be obtained? I think that unlikely but that does not mean that an impeachment inquiry should not be started in the House.
The inquiry could be done carefully and slowly running well into next year. Different portions of evidence could be rolled out at different times allowing the public to absorb just how corrupt Biden and, by association, the Democrats are. Of course, the alternate media, that’s us, would have to do a lot of the heavy lifting. Done well, I believe that the 2024 election would become clearer as a war between good and evil. And we are definitely at war with evil.
Accountability is a must if we are to recover the America that the founding fathers gave us. A wholesale cleaning out of the DOJ must happen. The FBI must be defunded. They are little more than Gestapo for the current administration. There are other alphabet agencies that need to disappear.
2024 could be a harbinger of change. If one pulls long enough on the impeachment thread, the vast corruption of US politics will be exposed. I am in favor of a very long impeachment inquiry.
