White Smoke

It was a tradition in the Catholic Church that, when a new Pope had been elected, white smoke would emanate from the Vatican.  It did not matter how long such a process took.  It did not matter how many votes were needed.  It was over when white smoke was seen.

Well, white smoke has been seen in Washington as the arduous process of electing a new Speaker of the House was concluded on Wednesday.  Louisiana Republican Mike Johnson won the vote.  This is a huge shift in momentum for the MAGA base, for common sense pragmatic voters, and, hopefully, for the overall direction of our country.

Johnson gave speech after his election that featured unanimous support from Republicans.

Johnson speaking from his heart is one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard from that Speakers podium. He sounds sincere and humble. Johnson seems to be a reasonable, fair and God-fearing man.  These are qualities to like regardless of one’s station in life. And he seems to believe in the priorities that are important to the long-term viability of this country.

The Rinos, K Street, and Dims have to be in a full speed panic.  I am certain that they will try to sabotage him.  Evil will not retreat when it thinks victory over good is near.  However, evil will need to expose themselves.  By their deeds one shall know them.

We are in a culture war.  This is a battle won.  Each battle won is part of changing the culture.  Let’s not forget to give some credit to PDJT.  This outcome is a reflection of the changing of the culture.  Good people can affect the outcomes like a stone thrown into the water.  The ripple effect of a good person is enormous.

A good friend has noted, “Bloom where you are and pull out the weeds.”

I am encouraged.  May God protect and empower Mike Johnson in his role in the House.
