Odds & Ends

In what has to be one of the greatest pieces of irony ever, private jets on the way to Dubai for the “global warming” conference known as COP28 literally became frozen on the runways in Munich due to a powerful snowstorm.

Must have been a lot of snow on that tail section.

What’s going on with the price of gold?  It has shot up to $2143.

What is going on with housing costs in Britain?

Britain simply does not have enough homes in the right places to offer young people a meaningful stake in society.

In the 1990s, a first-time buyer couple on a low-to-middle income saving 5 per cent of their wages would have enough for an average deposit after three years. Today it would take them 24 years.

A smaller proportion of people born between 1981 and 2000 are homeowners, at this life stage, than for any previous generation since 1926. And their rent payments have increased from 10 per cent of net income 30 years ago to around 30 per cent now. In London it is 40 per cent.

Does zero-bound interest rates have anything to do with this problem?

Is Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer, who was wrongfully convicted of murder in the death of drug addict George Floyd, a worrying problem for the current administration?  Will Chauvin’s continued presence on this planet became a focal point of some resistance to the takeover of the country by the Marxists and communists?

Chauvin was recently moved to a federal prison in Arizona from a state institution in Minnesota.  A former FBI informant, John Turscak, stabbed Chauvin 22 times on November 24th, the day after Thanksgiving.

Investigators noted that Turscak was charged with four counts including attempted murder.

Chauvin is expected to survive.

The propaganda is beginning to churn out pieces on Ukraine to get the public to accept that bad news is ahead for the Ukrainian situation.  Bad news ahead?  What about the horrendous news that has already come out?  Hundreds of thousands of dead Ukrainians because the West wanted to “weaken” Russia.  How has that worked out?

NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg urged NATO to “stand with Ukraine” so that a quick end to the war might be achieved.  Just what planet is he living on?

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov sees no chance for a ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict next year, on the basis that Kiev and its Western backers have taken a position that is totally unacceptable to Moscow.

Doesn’t sound like they are anywhere near to some common ground for ending the war.

Don Surber notes:

Bloomberg News uncovered a secret plan by terrorists to destroy the Snake River dams.

Bloomberg reported, “A draft agreement negotiated behind closed doors by the Biden administration and advocates of tearing down the lower Snake River dams says the science is clear on removing the dams.

“In what some are calling a secret plan developed with four tribes, Washington and Oregon, the federal government would spend more than $1 billion to prepare for breaching the four hydroelectric dams and to promote fish populations.”

The dams provide cheap, carbon-neutral electricity.

Eventually, Democrats will have us living in caves — this time without fire.

A top CIA official posted a pro-Palestine image on Facebook two weeks after Hamas attacked Israel, in a rare public political statement by a senior intelligence officer on a war that has sparked dissent within the Biden administration.

The CIA’s associate deputy director for analysis changed her Facebook cover photo on October 21 to an image of a man waving a Palestinian flag that is often used in stories criticizing Israel. The Financial Times has decided not to name her after the intelligence agency expressed concern about her safety.

Okay. The DOJ can demand the names of anyone who merely liked a tweet, but wrongdoers of The Regime have their anonymity protected 100%.
