Odds & Ends

Go Ahead, Try And Argue Facts….Let’s start: Boeing. An aircraft “door” (really a plug, but in a place where it can be a plug or a door) flies off in flight. So how did it happen in the case of Alaska Air?

At least two and perhaps four bolts, nuts and their safety wiring or cotter pin were left off when the plug was installed onto the frame of the aircraft. What’s worse is that United, when inspecting their similar aircraft after the first incident, has reported loose bolts on the lower hinge assemblies and some photos of those have circulated.

Obviously, the inspecting is not happening and the installing is not being done competently which is not one failure it is two failures, sequentially, in the same place. This is what happens when you start firing people who are skilled (and expensive) and replace them with people who are less-skilled (and cheaper)!

This is what DEI brings us.  And people will DIE and probably already have from such policies.

Karl Denninger notes:

We knew in 1981 that masks don’t work to block bacterial infections in an operating room.  We know this because Neil Orr proved it.  A series of studies after his tried to refute his findings and managed only to reinforce them including one in which the masks were loaded with non-harmful microspheres and then worn by the people in the OR and the contaminant, simulating what you would expel from your lungs if you were infected, was found in the surgical wounds.

Viruses are a thousand times smaller than bacteria and those microspheres.  In other words the mask is a talisman.  We knew this forty years ago and yet as soon as Covid showed up here come the mandates despite it being a fact that they don’t work.

And they don’t work even when used among 100% trained professionals who all know and can observe proper procedure for using and, after use, disposing of them to avoid cross-contamination.  Nobody in the ordinary civilian population will manage to pull that off especially when they’re hanging their masks from the rearview mirror in their cars.

And yet once again we are seeing the return of mask mandates in different areas of the country especially California.  How many people still believe this nonsense?

Year over Year change in the US population is worse than at any time in over 100 years.

But the COVID vaccines are “safe and effective.”  Yeah, effective at helping to depopulate the planet.

FAA’s diversity push includes focus on hiring people with ‘severe intellectual’ and ‘psychiatric’ disabilities. The Federal Aviation Administration is actively recruiting workers who suffer mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website. “

Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring,” the FAA’s website states. “They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism.”

The aviation industry has a responsibility for traveler safety just as the health care industry has a responsibility for patient safety. These responsibilities outweigh other factors when considering applicants to work in those fields.

People with disabilities who can successfully complete the tasks required should never face discrimination.  However, prioritizing hiring special groups over more qualified applicants should not happen in any industry.

The one county out of the 99 counties in Iowa that President Trump lost in Iowa on Caucus night ran out of party-switch forms on Caucus night. President Trump won every single county in Iowa on Monday night except Johnson County, where Iowa City and the University of Iowa are located. Nikki Haley won that county.

Did the Democrats crash this county’s caucus? Is this what the Democrats will do in New Hampshire to sabotage the Republican primary?
