Another Viewpoint On Texas

As most people are aware, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has pulled the trigger and is standing up to the lawlessness of the Biden Administration.  As has been mentioned elsewhere, the decision by SCOTUS to allow the fed to cut the razor wire in Shelby Park did not prohibit Texas from installing more wire or of even requiring Texas to give the feds access to the park in question.

This approach by SCOTUS of narrowly addressing the issue at hand is not untypical of how SCOTUS operates.  The constitutional issues at hand are often complex and need SCOTUS to weigh competing rights and government interests.  As a result, rulings are often narrowly tailored to the situation at hand.

In this case the issues resulted in a split court (5-4) to vacate the injunction against cutting the wire.  This underlines the difficulty that some cases present for the court.  Finding a ground that enough justices could support is sometimes difficult.  There are rumors that certain “liberal” justices wanted a more forward approach, wanting to hamstring Texas’ ability to deal with the invasion going on.

Republican Governors have rallied around Texas.  25 states have pledged to support Texas including sending their own National Guard troops.

DeSantis, who has returned to Florida after suspending his campaign, promised to send his “state guard” to avoid issues with the federalizing of National Guard units by the White House.

Right now, this is a political war.  The administration wants as many illegal aliens in the country as possible to aid and abet their plans for election fraud.  Stopping this invasion, that is enforcing our immigration laws, is not in the best interests of the Communists Democrats who are running the country.

How does the Border Patrol fit into this dynamic?  Of course, most Border patrol members in Texas are Texans.  They did not sign on to do battle with the Texas National Guard or the Texas Military Department for that matter.  They did sign on to protect the country.

Border Patrol Says Agents Will NOT Remove Texas Razor Wire Barriers

Union says agents will not interfere with “lawful” operations to protect the border

In defiance of the Biden Administration’s wishes, senior figures within Customs and Border Protection have stated that there are no plans to have Border Patrol agents remove razor wire barriers erected along sections of the border by the Texas National Guard.

Fox News reports that a high ranking CBP official told the network that their relationship with the Guard is “strong”.

“While this issue plays out in the courts, the relationship between Border Patrol, Texas DPS [Department of Public Safety], & TMD [Texas Military Dept.] remains strong,” the official said, adding “Our focus is and will always be the mission of protecting this country and its people.”

Mark Wauck notes:

Below is the CBP Union’s statement. As you’ll see, they mostly try to thread a needle—CBP and TX NG and TMD all have lawful orders, we will wait for the courts, and all that jazz. The union doesn’t want to go out on a legal limb by advocating defiance of orders, but they are going to say and do what’s necessary to support the rank and file—they can’t afford to lose them.

Obviously, we’re in a political war and CBP and the union are trying to avoid becoming cannon fodder in that war. But at the same time—toward the end—the union takes a significant shot at the Zhou regime, which amounts to taking sides in the political war—they place the blame for the “catastrophe” at the border squarely on the Zhou regime. In effect, that’s an expert opinion that the SCOTUS should take under consideration.

The union’s statement:

Rank-and file BP agents are not going to start arresting TX NG members for following their LAWFUL orders. That’s fake news.

TX NG and rank-and-file BP agents work together and respect each other’s jobs. Period. If TX NG members have LAWFUL orders, then they have to carry out those orders.

TX NG members realize that rank-and-file BP agents have their orders as well. Lawful orders, no matter how unpopular or distasteful amongst rank-and-file agents, must be followed. Unlawful orders (as determined by competent legal counsel and not what some outhouse lawyer behind a keyboard says) will not be followed.

Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America.

We want to be perfectly clear, there is no fight between rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG, Gov. Abott, or TX DPS. It may make flashy headlines, but it simply isn’t true.

So, it appears that the Biden administration is between a rock and a hard place.  The union has placed blame for the border crisis squarely on the administration’s shoulders.  Biden’s handlers have created a dangerous no-win situation for the regime. If a confrontation is initiated via federal action, a really ugly situation could result.

Remember Tiananmen Square?  When the Chinese government sent in the local troops, they refused to oust their neighbors.  The government eventually had to resort to bringing in troops from other areas of the country.

Translate that to Texas.  Not only is a civil war possible, but even, at best, Biden risks openly exposing the Democrat plan to forcibly slam in as many illegal aliens as possible.

Fox News is now reporting that the Biden administration is backing away from trying to force the issue.  They may realize that this issue would play very well in a Trump campaign.  They will probably try to say that some legislation in Congress would solve the problem and that the Republicans won’t move forward with that.

This is a total farce.  The Biden administration is not enforcing the current laws.  Who believes for one minute that Biden would magically change and enforce any new laws?  Of course, if such legislation passes, the media will jump up and down and claim the border is secure.  That carries about as much weight as Karen Jean-Pierre claiming the same thing.

No additional legislation is needed.  Close the border.  Enforce existing laws.  Stop putting out a big sign that says America will feed, house and clothe you.  How many military age men have crossed the border from countries who are not our allies?

The administration now appears to have switched gears.  It appears that they are trying to use economic “sanctions” against Texas.  On Friday, the administration announced a “pause” to pending approvals for liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects.  There are many projects underway around the country for the construction of LNG export terminals.

While the eco-extremists have long put pressure on the administration to end fossil fuel use, the timing here is very suspect.  It’s an election year.  The eco-extremists were going to vote for Biden no matter what. Destroying energy jobs will turn voters away from Biden.  This seems like an obvious attack on Texas given that Texas is and will be the premier LNG hub in America.

And this war has been going on for some time.  “Sanctioning” red states is a tactic this administration has used before.  Florida embraced the monoclonal antibody treatment for COVID.  It actually worked while we all know that the so-called mRNA vaccine was an utter failure.

Why?  Florida’s success was undermining the idea that there was only one way to deal with COVID.  That was impacting the money headed to Big Pharma.  That had to be stopped or at least, mitigated to some extent.

The message is clear.  Do as we say or we will come for you.  Is this any different than the treatment that J6 protesters have received?

The problem in Texas and all across the southern border has caused some voices to arise who may have previously been silent.  A letter being circulated, signed by a number of former FBI executive directors, warns about the choices being made by the Biden administration.

Its tone is deadly serious:

The current administration is courting disaster.  Are they looking for an excuse to impose martial law and to suspend elections?

Winners and losers here.  Texas is in a strong position both politically and morally.  The country is being invaded and the administration is aiding and abetting that invasion.  Most Americans are now aware of the issue from all the deleterious effects of this open borders policy. So, Texas has stood up for Americans and is clearly on the winning side regardless of what has transpired in Washington.

It seems to me that the Democrats are big losers here.  The Dems did not need to challenge Texas over the crossing at Eagle Pass.  The flow of illegal aliens would have just shifted to another point on the border which is what has happened.  The Dems seem to think that they can intimidate everyone who does not agree with them.  Just how opaque is that fantasy bubble that the Dems live in in Washington?

Even if/when Biden is displaced from the Democratic ticket for one reason or another, the new candidate would be called upon to address this situation. Can they distance themselves from this?  It’s has been three years of this insanity and no Democrat of any note has stood up against this.

On the other hand, conservatives may be gaining standing among at least a certain percentage of Americans who may have previously had reservations. They gain standing by protecting ordinary Americans whose safety and financial well being is being directly threatened by the ruling class.
