What Russia Thinks

Tucker Carlson is in Moscow.  A Russian News outlet asked Russians what they think about Tucker Carlson.

It sounds like he is welcome.  I suppose some ignorant people will think that makes him a Russian sympathizer.  They have forgotten (or maybe never knew) that journalists are supposed to get all the facts.

Speaking of facts, I think this chronology provide by a commenter is apropos.

Did Russia invade Ukraine? Definition of invade: “To enter by force in order to conquer or pillage.”

Let’s look at what was happening. During the winter of 2021-2022, a force of about 150,000 Ukrainian soldiers gathered on the border of the Donbass. On February 9, plans for an invasion of the Donbass were leaked to the London Times and Kiev Independent. https://t.me/Global_Intel/16543 Zelensky okayed those plans on February 13 after a call with Biden.

On February 16, according to OSCE data, the Ukrainians began again to bomb the Donbass. https://www.kanekoa.news/p/osce-reports-reveal-ukraine-started

The oligarchs had left on February 13-14 and Lloyd’s of London stopped reinsurance services in Ukraine (The Guardian). By February 18, the Donbass militias were bringing up busses to evacuate residents to Russia. The leaders of Donetsk and Lugansk again applied to the Russian legislature for recognition of their independent status within Ukraine. On February 21, Vladimir Putin signed the recognition. The next day he declared the Minsk agreements were not working to protect the Donbass and said that Russia would respond if the Donbass republics asked for help. (See link to speech on 21 February below.)

That call for help arrived on February 23 from Denis Pushilin of Donetsk and Leonid Pasechnik of Lugansk:

“Kyiv continues to build up its military presence on the line of contact, while receiving comprehensive support, including military support, from the United States and other Western states. The Kyiv regime is focused on resolving the conflict by force.”

“Given the foregoing, the heads of the two republics, in connection with the current situation, as well as in order to prevent civilian casualties and a humanitarian catastrophe, on the basis of Articles 3 and 4 of the treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between the Russian Federation and the republics, ask the president of Russia to assist in repelling aggression of the armed forces and formations of Ukraine.”

It is not an invasion when a country is asked to enter boundaries to defend independence, repel aggression, and protect lives and the purpose is not conquering or plundering.

Russia was very careful to declare their actions were taken under UN Resolution 2202 (Russia was a guarantor of the resolution) and Article 1 of the UN charter. See Timeline https://larouchepub.com/other/2022/4923-it_was_not_unprovoked_russian.html

How many Americans are aware of these facts?
