The Somali fraud in Minnesota is reaching historic levels. A $9 billion figure is commonly seen in the media at this point in time. However, this most likely will turn out to be the proverbial tip of the iceberg. The fraud is spreading to other states.
Specifically Ohio has emerged as another possible epicenter for massive fraud. As has Washington State and Michigan. Will the wheel stop there? I doubt it. This is about to upend the whole welfare system.
In Ohio Attorney Mehek Cooke has revealed a decade-long Medicaid fraud scheme allegedly being exploited by members of the Somali community. Cooke’s investigation appears to have uncovered that Ohio fraudsters have systematically manipulated the state’s Medicaid system. Individuals were obtaining up to $91,000 annually through false claims of providing home healthcare to family members who required no such care.
Cooke describes the fraudulent activities as involving coached patients, and doctors rubber-stamping fraudulent claims in what she characterizes as an ongoing crime network.
Cernovich notes that the child care fraud in Columbus, Ohio is worse than in Minnesota.
It should be noted that Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar, a Democrat Socialist, has come under scrutiny. Her net worth, according to financial disclosures, grew from a reported negative net worth in 2018 to between $6 million and $30 million by 2025. Reports indicate that multiple individuals convicted of fraud in the Minnesota schemes held connections to Omar’s office. These included a restaurant owner who was convicted of stealing $12 million in COVID-19 funds. This individual had hosted events for her campaign. Of course, Omar has denied any knowledge of illegal activities.
Alternative media outlets and most notably Nick Shirley, have spotlighted the Somalia graft in Minnesota. Their investigations reveal elaborate scams within Minnesota’s Somali community, spanning child nutrition, autism therapy, housing stabilization, and child-care programs, and exposing the loss of billions in taxpayer dollars.

This excursion by Nick Shirley highlighted almost $110 million in what appears to be fraud. This was in just one day. The video has garnered over 130 million views. VP JD Vance praised the work of Nick Shirley.

Did this video have world class editing? The answer is no. In fact, it is amateurish and could stand some rigorous editing. However, what it does have is content. It shows to the world just what is going on there.
Ilhan Omar can no longer hide behind the smoke screen of racism. Omar is exposed as a world class narrator of a storyline that has no basis in the truth. Governor Walz is exposed as either incredibly stupid or incredibly corrupt. Perhaps both are possible. Once again, why did Kamala Harris select him as her running mate?
An overlooked aspect of the racketeering going on involves money laundering, tax evasion, and financing of illicit activities. Hawala dealers, a money-transfer system that allows Somalis to send funds locally and internationally appears to be a central nexus for this. These money transmitters create opportunities for fraud and money laundering.
Has the State of Minnesota taken any action against these dealers who are at this point in time not in compliance with state law?

The six companies are registered with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS). However, Section 7.02 requires money transmitters to maintain current audited financial statements. Since the audit opinions have been withdrawn, the six entities are now noncompliant and in violation of their surety bond requirements. Let’s keep in mind that, during the vice-presidential debate, Governor Walz was bragging about these childcare programs and about how much money he was spending on these programs.
One would think that outrage would be the order of the day. However, on the Left, it appears that they are upset about having to talk about it. They claim it is a bi-partisan issue despite the fact that almost all of the criminals identified so far have come from the Somali community.
To them this is just a temporary embarrassment. They would like the story to go away so that they can go back to their narrative that all the people brought into the country are really much better than the current unworthy occupants of what is “stolen land.”
Some big media outlets are doing their best to make this happen. CNN and MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) had not until very recently run a single story about what is most likely the largest fraud case in American history. The Minnesota Star Tribune is in the same situation.
There are a variety of welfare programs that are exposed in this video. Ongoing federal investigations have targeted food distribution programs and COVID relief programs as well.

The political scam of what’s called the welfare state is nearly a century old, and is only now being fully exposed in a way that the people can grasp. It’s taking from you to build bureaucracy and buy votes with a humanitarian gloss. That’s pretty much the whole thing.
Another especially striking feature of what’s unfolding now gets to the heart of a truth known in the literature but hardly spoken about at all in the media. Namely: such a system is only politically viable so long as demographics are relatively homogenous. The tax-paying people do a Rawlesian “behind the veil” mental experiment and come to believe, more or less, that the people they are supporting with their tax dollars – whether administrators or recipients – are like themselves, members of the family; there but for the grace of god go I.They too would like a “safety net,” in the event of an emergency.
Once you mix things up with random people who are NOT like the paying population – different language, religion, ethnicity, national origin – who also seem to be gaming the system, you breed resentment that ends up overthrowing the entire machinery. This is why welfare states in heterogenous societies cannot last. Again, this is well known among scholars of the subject.
There is no population fury that compares with the sense that foreigners are ripping off the productive domestic population, within their own borders. That combination is politically explosive. Long history and vast empirical research supports this contention.
Nick Shirley will need security going forward. He has already received threats that he will be “kirked” in the near future. The Left is not happy about their schemes being revealed.
At this point it does not matter how much the Democrats dissemble about what was going on here. Nick Shirley’s video will live forever. It is on a par with the video that took down ACORN.
It needs to be hammered over and over just how much corruption there is in these welfare programs. Those who have aided and abetted this need to be removed from office and sent to a bunk in a jail somewhere.
