Colorado Supports Mutilating Kids

Colorado had passed a law banning counseling of kids with gender dysphoria if such counseling would result in such kids becoming comfortable with their God-given sex.  The law aimed to prevent kids from receiving the best kind of treatment for gender dysphoria.  The law had been passed behind the moronic advice of transgender activists.

These activists push an extremely cruel agenda.  They call this “gender-affirming care.” When a boy claims he suffers from a persistent and painful sense that he is “really” a girl, they say society should “affirm” his identity as a girl and that he should take experimental interventions to make his male body appear female.  These interventions include hormones and surgery.

Many studies have shown that if kids are allowed to develop on their own without this “affirmation” of a transgender identity, most of them will end up at peace with their God-given sex.

Counseling often helps these youngsters resolve the underlying psychological issues that make a boy suspect he may “really” be a girl or vice versa.  The Colorado law banned this kind of counseling.  The law was recently reviewed by the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court found that this law violated the First Amendment.  The decision was 8-1 with the usual dissent from the justice who is unable to define a woman.

Throughout oral arguments, Justices Samuel Alito, Elena Kagan, Clarence Thomas, and Gorsuch repeatedly raised concerns about viewpoint discrimination, especially given that the law permits counseling that affirms a minor’s identity but prohibits counseling that questions or redirects it.

The state maintained that counseling is a form of treatment subject to professional standards of care, and that the First Amendment does not protect a licensed professional’s right to provide harmful or ineffective treatment simply because it is delivered through words.

In the end Colorado’s law was seen as a classic case of viewpoint discrimination. And even Kagan, in a short concurrence joined by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, labeled it as a “textbook” example.

It is insane to see that there are so many people in government who have bought into the nonsense of transgenderism.
