Racial Gerrymandering Is Unconstitutional

Racial gerrymandering has been determined to be unconstitutional via the Louisiana v Calais ruling last week.  The progressive side of the court tried to delay the ruling by slow-walking minority dissents.  Why?  Because the progressive justices are partisan hacks and they did not want to see the result implemented for this election cycle.

Justice Alito, who wrote the majority opinion, ended that tactic.  The result was the decision announced last week.

On Monday, The Supreme Court ruled that its ruling on race-based congressional districts takes immediate effect. The order {SEE HERE} speeds up the normal 32-day timeline and puts the State of Louisiana on notice their current districts are not constitutional.  As such, they must be redrawn to comply with the Constitution.

Of course, as it turns out, the State of Louisiana was waiting for the ruling and is acting with all due speed to draw constitutional maps.  Texas, Florida and Alabama are also acting to bring their districts in line with the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was not happy with the immediacy ruling.  Brown wrote a dissent that was so ridiculous none of the other minority justices would sign on to it. Let that sink in.  Her fellow progressive justices have distanced themselves from her reckless tirade.

Jackson said the majority “unshackles itself” from “constraints.” The court should follow the default rule, she insisted.  Brown claimed that this decision for immediacy “represents an unprincipled use of power.”  In fact, Brown actually stated, “And just like that, those principles give way to power.”

Justice Alito was not amused.  Alito challenged Brown by asking what principle the Court had violated.  Alito went on to spank the unqualified justice by noting that her rhetoric “lacks restraint.”

As is becoming more obvious with time, Brown has gotten herself into a position that is light years above her skill level.  Has a Supreme Court justice ever been impeached?  Of course, with the current polarization in the country, her removal is not possible.  How would one ever find enough Democratic Senators who would support that!
