There are those who are opining that the woke era is over. Do not believe it. Those who say this do not know what they are saying.
Case in point. In the city of Greenfield, in Massachusetts, a lesbian bar is causing outrage from their patrons by easing mask-wearing mandates. In 2026. And not just any masks. The bar requires KN95 masks…at all times. The bar is struggling financially to stay afloat, so the owner decided to make one night a week, Saturday night, mask optional.
Angry customers are accusing the bar of trying to kill people. In 2026. To call these people unhinged would be the understatement of the year.
From the Boston Globe:
Previously, patrons were required to wear a well-fitted KN-95 mask “or better” at all times.
The new policy was not received with love.
“Just say you’re being complicit in a mass disabling event and get it over with,” wrote one commenter.
“people like you kill disabled people in the name of your own leisure and convenience,” posted another.
“I hope your venue gets firebombed for robbing my fellow immunocompromised people of their Saturday plans just to scrape extra revenue from ablists [sic],” wrote a third.
The New York Post added a few more:
“seeing these people whine about masks being a little inconvenient for them is INFURIATING.
how could we consider you “community” if you act in a way that is killing us.”“if you’re only concerned with protecting yourself at the cost of DEATH for others, you are no better than a fascist.”
“disabled folks don’t have other spaces we can frequent, largely because of people like you who’ve accepted the culture of ableism and don’t want to mask to keep their communities safe.”
