Russian Collusion Again

No Comments on Russian Collusion Again

As PDJT rejects the nefarious intents of the EU-NATO personnel who demand the dismantling of Russia, the voices get louder and more unhinged.  They shout about Russia’s espionage, mayhem and general mischief without ever presenting evidence.  It is all “just trust us.”

As President Reagan once said trust but verify.  That applies to our allies who want to continue escalating engagement with Russia.  And, so far, evidence is sorely missing.

This week, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham blamed Russia for the 2016 Brexit referendum vote that took the U.K out of the European Union.

UK NEWS – […] “The prime minister told The Rest is Politics podcast that upon arriving in No 10, he had asked about possible Russian interference in the 2016 vote, adding: “I’ve had the clear answer that, yes, there was.” […]  Burnham did not provide further details about the type or extent of Moscow’s activity during the Brexit referendum.

Britain Unbound, a pro-Brexit campaign group, said Burnham’s comments were “another crude attempt to undermine the legitimacy of the decision that the British people made in 2016”. (read more)

Hmmm.  A media outlet that actually presented both sides.  Unusual for Britain.

Boris Johnson, you remember him, he used to be prime minister one time, suggested Andy Burnham is lying about Russian influence on the EU referendum.

The EU policies are failing miserably.  Burnham may be trying to tamp down the anger of voters in Germany and France by raising the specter of the boogeyman Russia.  Both countries are struggling with populist movements that put the country ahead of the EU.

Do countries attempt to influence election outcomes in other countries?  The unequivocal answer is yes.  Every country does this from time to time if they think it may carry significant benefit to do so.  Just look at Mark Carney in Canada and his collaborating with Democratic politicians in this country in the runup to our midterms.

Did this happen in connection with Brexit?

Researchers at the Oxford University Internet Institute discovered that roughly 100 Russia-linked Twitter accounts posted material about Brexit during the referendum campaign.
They found that the Russia-connected links shared on Twitter made up only 0.6% of the total related to Brexit and concluded that Russian influence was minimal.  That is 6 tweets out of every 1000.

The head of British Intelligence, MI5 chief Sir Ken McCallum, warned Prime Minister Burham that promoting Russian conspiracies without solid evidence may lead to an erosion of confidence in the U.K government.  May lead to an erosion of confidence in the government?  That happened long ago when the UK decided to allow a Muslim invasion.

The reality is that, like the German people, the British are laughing at government leadership.  That leadership has lost the confidence of the people as evidenced by recent election results in Germany.

Where will this all end?  Is nuclear war the planned endpoint?
