Before the proximity of this year’s elections drowned it out, the hours of debauchery from a couple of years ago that included promiscuous sex and uninhibited drug use at the University of Cornell were a news item. The media labeled the seven frat brothers as the Cornell 7. They are all sleazeballs but hardly rapists. There is an 8th sleazeball. That would be the young woman involved.
Now, some might call this “victim shaming.” However, she was a willing participant if not the one who actually came up with some of the ideas to indulge in the debauchery.
I am calling this the Cornell 8 because eight people voluntarily and consensually engaged in the debauchery that has been all over the news. The leftist culture promotes this kind of culture especially from the feminist side of the house with the “my body, my choice” nonsense. And there are few universities further left than Cornell in New York State.
It should be noted that the young woman involved did write “our body our choice” in a text message with one the alleged rapists. TMZ has posted screenshots of this exchange.
It seems clear that she enjoyed herself and, at least in the beginning afterwards, did not care what others thought. However, as the news spread on campus of what had taken place, she became stressed out. Eventually she decided that she was taken advantage of and filed a police report. The case went nowhere because the prosecutor could not find evidence of coercion. And all the participants were in various states of inebriation.
When the case re-appeared in the runup to the election, the governor saw an opportunity to enhance her standing with the AWFLs crowd. When the media had stirred the crowd enough, she appointed that master litigator, Letitia James, as special prosecutor for the case.
James immediately gave the script away.
What this young woman has been forced to endure is horrific and unacceptable. I’m holding her in my heart and in my prayers. To her, and to all survivors: you’re not alone. We stand with you. https://t.co/az4ViQwgy1

Notice the loaded language, “…forced to endure…”. The woman was a willing participant. Her texts after the event show that. Then there was the word “survivors.” So much for the presumption of innocence. James clearly indicates that she has no desire to operate by the laws of this country. Her statement, presented as fact, is not based on evidence but rather her own feelings about the environment she needs to create to turn seven frat brothers into inmates.

The media is an important part of this process. James will need the media to poison the jury pool before any charges get presented anywhere. That may be difficult with the news of the Democrats taking over the House and Senate overwhelming the news cycle.
This case appears to be the Duke lacrosse case and the UVA case all over again. The only difference is that all of the participants here are sleazeballs.
James, if she is smart, will allow the case to die a natural death. Hochul has been re-elected so there is no need for further actions in this case to promote her with the AWFLs.
The eight sleazeballs can move on with their lives if somewhat chastened by that evening’s experiences and the subsequent fallout.
