The anti-Christian bias of the Democrats has been on full display recently. First, two sitting US Senators questioned the ability of a judge to be a judge because he is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
The fact of someone’s faith being made into a disqualifying attribute for public service is chilling. What will be next? The fact that one believes in a Creator? Apparently these Senators think that believing in marriage between a man and a woman is some kind of extremist view worthy of condemnation. The Democrats appear to be hell bent on driving Christians from speaking in the public square or from holding public office.
Knights of Columbus spokesperson Kathleen Blomquist said, “We believe that membership in the Knights of Columbus, which helps everyday men put their Catholic faith into action, is worthy of commendation and not something a nominee for public office should be asked to defend.”
The K of C is a volunteer organization founded on the idea of service to one’s fellow human being. Through its volunteer efforts it raises over $200 million every year for worthy causes. But, because they are a Catholic organization that follows the Church’s teachings on marriage and abortion, the K of C is now some extremist group that must be banned from the public square according to the Democrats.
After Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse introduced a resolution reaffirming the unconstitutionality of religious tests for public office, Sen. Hirono doubled down on her attack accusing the mild-mannered Nebraskan of taking an “alt-right” position.
So now it is an “alt-right” idea to believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. What would the Democrats come up with next?
CNN, the PR wing of the Democratic Party, went on the attack against Christians last week when they questioned providing Secret Service protections to VP Mike Pence’s wife because she took a part-time teaching position at a Christian school in Virginia. Apparently, according to CNN’s Clay Cane, the Pence’s are guilty of “moral hypocrisy” for adhering to their faith’s belief that the term ‘marriage’ has only one meaning; the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive covenant union. Perhaps Clay Cane should look into a mirror if he needs to find someone guilty of “moral hypocrisy.”
CNN’s John King questioned the use of taxpayer dollars to provide her protection simply because she is teaching at a Christian school that adheres to Christian beliefs. As Inez Stepman said, “This is horrifying and dangerous.”
VP Pence took the high road when he defended his wife. He said that they are used to being criticized for their religious beliefs. Oliver Knox, white House correspondent, noted:
Yet this is exactly what John King was trying to float out there. He is trying to push forward the idea that former President Barack Obama tried. That is, that religion is to be confined to where you worship on Sunday and has no place in the public square. John King is floating the idea that the free exercise of religion as enshrined in the Bill of Rights is to be erased from people’s minds. The idea that faith has been the cornerstone of America must be eradicated.
If they are successful at this, then all rights flow from the government. There are no inalienable rights. This is the mantra of the modern Democratic Party.
