Normalizing Political Violence

In another example of the left trying to normalize political violence, Joseph “Jose” Alcoff (aka “Chepe,” aka “Jose Martin”) has been charged with aggravated assault and ethnic intimidation against two US Marines.

U.S. Marine Corps reservists Alejandro Godinez and Luis Torres, dressed in their military uniforms, testified that a large group of left-wing Antifa activists beat the Marines after mistaking them for participants in a November “We the People” rally in Philadelphia.

The two Marines were in the city for a Marine Corps event.  According to the Marines’ testimony, they were touring historical landmarks near Front and Chestnut streets when approached by the Antifa thugs.  Godinez testified that they were asked  “Are you proud?” to which Godinez remembers responding “We are Marines.” Torres said that he remembers a second question “Are you Proud Boys?” an allusion to one of the alt-right groups behind the rally.  Torres said he didn’t understand. “I didn’t know what Proud Boys meant,” he said.

After this both Marines testified that approximately a dozen people — men and women, some masked and some unmasked — began attacking them with mace, punches, and kicks, and calling them “Nazis” and “white supremacists.”

Godinez said that he cried out, “I’m Mexican!” After that both men said that members of the group repeatedly used ethnic slurs, including “spic” and “wetback,” against the Marines.

Godinez testified that he was maced at least six times, hit in the head, and kicked in the ribs, and he said that while he was being “stomped,” members of the group chanted “fuck him up” over and over again.

These kinds of attacks have been classified as “domestic terrorist violence” by Homeland Security.  Alcoff along with Thomas Massey and Tom Keenan have been charged in connection with the attack.  Who is Joseph Alcoff?

Alcoff uses three identities.  This is to conceal his more radical activities.  The significant efforts Alcoff takes to separate his true identity from his radical personas appear to be intentional.  His comments are certainly more extreme when he has more anonymity.

As Alcoff, he spoke on the Joint Economic Committee podcast, where he stressed the importance of a stable and depoliticized regulatory environment so that “companies and industry figures out how to profit from more responsible lending.”

However, his previously anonymous social media postings include the following:

These were Twitter posts that were not taken down at the time. Apparently they did not violate their terms of service.

He advocates a violent overthrow of the government and the use of violence against anyone he perceives as fascist (he apparently exempts himself and his followers from this label).

In another interview on Radio Dispatch “Chepe” said, “I am on the radical left, the far left, that believes in rupture and social revolution.” He added that he “doesn’t really think that you can engage in change in a gradual way. Social transformation of society can’t be a gradual thing.”

Alcoff was an organizer for the group Smash Racism DC which is allegedly responsible for the attack on Tucker Carlson’s house in December.  He was also an organizer for Bernie Sanders during his run for the Democratic nomination in 2016

These are the kinds of people that Antifa attracts.  And Antifa are the foot soldiers for the left who want to transform this country into one where they will tell you what to think and when to think it.
