Democrats Scramble

Now that declassification has been announced, what can be expected from the Democrats?  Keep in mind that the potential legal exposure of members of the Obama administration is considerable.  Already there is a scramble to deflect blame by some of the chief participants in the Russia narrative hoax.

This appears to be a smokescreen to deflect attention away from the real origins of the conspiracy.

This was just the beginning.  Last week Speaker Pelosi tried to say that PDJT was engaged in a cover-up because he refuses to re-litigate the Mueller investigation. Two years and $35 million was not enough.  No crimes were committed.  But Pelosi continues with her idea that the American people will believe every lie she tells.

Actually Pelosi and Schumer have few options.  Speaker Pelosi needs to protect John Brennan, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Sally Yates, James Clapper, et al.  The Democrats need to ramp up their accusations in order to make it appear that political retribution is what’s driving declassification.  They need to do this over and over.  One can expect to see more of this kind of deflection coming from the Democrats.  They have to make it appear that any corrupt activity that surfaces is being revealed as the result of political retaliation.  DO NOT LOOK AWAY!  DO NOT BE FOOLED!

In keeping with the Democratic strategy Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Mark Warner smeared the attorney general when he said that the AG had “already shown that he has no problem selectively releasing information in order to mislead the American people.”

Apparently redacting portions of the Mueller report as required by law (8%) is selectively misleading the American people.  A more complete report (2% redacted) was also made available to select members of Congress Warner included.  Warner has declined to view this copy.  Why?  He needs to keep plausible deniability in order to continue to distract the public from the real crimes that were committed.

Warner took another approach as well.  Warner implied that Barr would be risking the lives of intelligence assets through his irresponsible handling of classified information.

“People risk their lives to gather the intelligence material that President Trump and Attorney General Barr are so eager to politicize.”

The irony here is palpable.   HRC’s irresponsible use of an unprotected server located in a bathroom closet may have resulted in the destruction of an American intelligence network in China.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff has a different tact.  The man lost whatever credibility he had left with the American public with the release of the Mueller Report.  However, he is still clinging to his TDS-fueled hoax cover-up story.  He also wants to pretend that obstruction of justice occurred.  Again another smokescreen.

This is what is called projection. Schiff is accusing PDJT of exactly what the Left has been doing for years. The Obama White House, FBI and Department of Justice weaponized law enforcement and classified information against their political enemies.  This extends all the way back to the IRS scandal in 2011 that targeted conservative tea party leaders.  It has continued through the FBI using the unverified Steele dossier to justify spying (there’s that word again) on Americans working for the Trump campaign.

Of course, back in 2016, Schiff was singing a different tune.

Schiff has promised to impede the investigation into the origins of the Russia narrative in any way possible.  He threatened to conduct “vigorous oversight” of any steps to “selectively reveal and distort classified information.”  So, just who is stonewalling?  If one is impeding a criminal investigation to uncover the truth, isn’t this the definition of obstruction of justice?

David Kris, who led the National Security Division of the DOJ during Obama’s first term, noted,

“It’s very unusual — unprecedented in my experience — for a non-intelligence community officer to be given absolute declassification authority over the intelligence community.  This extraordinary assignment and the reaction it has provoked show how far we have moved from historical norms,”

I would certainly agree with Kris that such actions by PDJT to give this power to AG Barr are unprecedented.  However, unusual times require unusual methods.  As noted elsewhere, PDJT is most probably a target/victim of the illicit activities that may be uncovered.  AG Barr is the chief law enforcement officer in the country.  It makes sense for him to assume this responsibility in pursuit of his criminal investigations.  This prevents a conflict of interest from arising.  PDJT’s lawful actions are the result of the unprecedented attempt by the left to execute a coup against the lawfully elected government of the United States.

In a carefully-worded statement released Friday, DNI Dan Coats seemed to expose himself as a possible member of the “swamp.”  He indicated that the intelligence community would provide the DOJ with all “appropriate” information related to its review.  This implies that he had the discretion to withhold information.   That’s not what PDJT ordered.  Discretion is given to the Attorney General, not the DNI. The DNI “shall promptly provide” whatever information is requested.  He may discuss with the AG his reasons for keeping info classified but he may not refuse the AG.

It’s easy to find out exactly what the left is doing. All we have to do is look at what Schiff and others like him are accusing the Trump administration of doing and we have the answer.

It certainly appears that the Democrats have very few options.  The most obvious one remaining is to actually go ahead with impeachment even though they have no charges to bring.  They can always invent some.  The hope there would be this might provide them with a bigger smokescreen to cover up whatever is revealed during declassification.
