In what has to a stunning move by congressional Democrats, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced she was opening satellite Capitol Police offices in California and Florida. Supposedly this is to investigate threats against members of Congress. The Speaker indicated that there would be more locations around the country announced in the future.
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Capitol Police on Tuesday announced that the agency was opening regional field offices in California and Florida to investigate threats to members of Congress in the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Threats against members of Congress have increased in recent years. As of Tuesday, total threats so far in 2021 were double what they were at this point a year ago, according to Capitol Police.
[…] “At this time, Florida and California are where the majority of our potential threats are,” a department spokesperson said in a statement. “The field offices will be the first for the Department. A regional approach to investigating and prosecuting threats against Members is important, so we will be working closely with the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in those locations.”
The Democrats are using the excuse of the “insurrection” on January 6th to try to create a nation-wide police presence that is answerable to the legislative branch of government. It is unclear just what constitutional authority is being used to justify this.
This is just a backdoor attempt to do what President Obama wanted to do when he first came into office. That was to federalize all the police. Obama said in 2008:
“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
The purpose here is not to investigate threats to members of Congress. After all, that is what the FBI does as corrupt as they might be. The FBI has regional offices around the country. They are perfectly capable of carrying the burden of such investigations that may be necessary.
So what is the real purpose?
See this for what it is without getting too granular on the specifics. A federal political agency will now coordinate with federal U.S. Attorney’s on specific targeting operations. In essence, the Florida and California offices of Pelosi’s police will direct the DOJ on who and where to target. This is completely political.
There’s no legislative or constitutional process for a subsidiary federal law enforcement agency to exist. This appears to be a new construction outside the boundaries of the legislative branch, and quasi-constitutional from the framework of the executive branch. Essentially satellite DC police units.
State Governors need to respond to this action with direct and specific inquiries about what “federal” authorities “guide” these offices? What federal legislative authority created them? The New York Police Department cannot set up a field office in Atlanta, Georgia, or Dallas, Texas; there is no jurisdictional authority that would permit it. So, how can the DC police department arbitrarily operate field offices in states outside Washington DC jurisdiction?
This appears to be a quasi-legal investigative agency run out of DC. I would be very curious to see what legal authority they would cite to support the operation(s).
I agree with Sundance. According to an authoritative source, the legislative charter for the Capitol Police is for the Capitol grounds. They are not authorized beyond the grounds of the Capitol and its buildings for a total 2350 personnel. The executive power of Congress is limited to the area within which it must meet. Sending them elsewhere is beyond the scope of their charter.
This is a purely political move. The Democrats are being very proactive. They are trying to make the Capitol Police into a legislative, secret police. What is the real “threat” that they are afraid of?
There are many things to consider. Parents across the country are rising up against CRT on the schools. Who wants their child indoctrinated to believe that they are evil based on their skin color?
The economy is falling apart despite the removal of lockdown status in many blue states. The America First economy that was roaring is gone and people are noticing. Do the Democrats fear unrest because of this? They did not seem to have any problem with unrest last summer. Antifa and BLM ran wild across the country without any real pushback from law enforcement particularly the FBI.
Then there are the election audits. Yes, I said audits. There are now multiple places where some kind of forensic audit is underway or about to begin. What will be the reaction of people when it is proved that the Democrats stole the election?
Is this a distraction, a smoke screen, to hide the involvement of our Intelligence Community in the events of January 6th?
In California, the Gavin Newsome recall election is coming up. Is this playing into the reasons for this move by Pelosi?
Why Florida? Is this a message that Florida’s help to Texas and Arizona with the border crisis has now put them in the crosshairs of the political elite in Washington?
Is there a false flag operation being readied for one of these areas of the country? Will the Capitol Police swoop in and prevent it?
This smacks of the Third Reich. I have said many times that the Democrats are the Nazi Party of the 21st century. The parallels with the Nazis of the 1930’s are mind boggling.
Antifa are clearly the brown shirts of the new Nazis. The brown shirts were responsible for much of the violence of the Nazis during the 1930’s. Krystallnacht was an example of this violence. And just like the Nazi brown shirts, Antifa will be discarded and neutered once their usefulness has ended.
Based on the events of the last year, has the FBI has morphed into the Gestapo? Hundreds of people still languish in DC jails because they walked through the Capitol Building. Many have been subject to severe physical abuse. However, the thousands who looted, burned, murdered and rioted last summer are free to walk around without being held accountable.
With this move, it appears that the parallel for the Capitol Police is the SS. The function will be to find “dissidents” to arrest perhaps at the crack of dawn or the middle of the night. Their function will be entirely political. Dissidents will be defined as those who hold different political views from the communists Democrats.
The ultimate goal is to crush dissent by any means necessary. As one observer noted, “They are creating a multi-jurisdictional, federally controlled, private Army, out of “thin air”. This is what Hitler did.”
It is time for all God-fearing Americans to stand up and say “Not on my watch!”
