Empty Grocery Shelves

The mother of all supply chain issues began on Saturday.  The United States has now prohibited truckers who have not been jabbed with a COVID “vaccine” from crossing the border into the country.  In addition to supply chain issues outside the food market, the grocery shelves will be heavily impacted by this nonsensical ruling from our government.  One would think that the administration is deliberately trying to collapse the economy.

Much of the country’s out-of-season fruits and vegetables come from places like South and Central America as well as Mexico.  Much of our potato supply comes across the border from Canada.  With 60% to 75% of all truckers refusing the mRNA poison, how will these products get to market?

Even NBC is now beginning to report on the potential disruption to our food supply that this idiocy will bring.  Please be reminded that Canada imposed this rule on border crossings into Canada on January 15th.

These shelves may be considered very well stocked in the near future.

(Via NBC) – […] The U.S. mandate, announced in October, requires all essential foreign travelers, including truck drivers, who cross U.S. land borders to be fully vaccinated. Essential nonresident travelers had been able to enter the U.S. during the pandemic regardless of their vaccination status, in part so as not to disrupt trade and to give them more time to get vaccinated.

The forthcoming mandate follows one that went into effect in Canada last week that prohibits unvaccinated truckers from crossing into Canada from the U.S.

[…]  The border restriction will make the automotive supply chain issue worse, said Doug Betts, president of the global automotive division at J.D. Power, a data and analytics company focused on the auto industry. He noted that auto parts come from all over the world and one obstruction in the chain can significantly slow or stop production.

“By the time you map out the supply chain, it’s just a spider web going everywhere,” he said.

“I would be surprised if there are any (U.S.) cars that don’t have at least one Canadian-based part. Canada is a pretty important part of auto manufacturing,” Betts said. “Any part that doesn’t arrive or if there’s something wrong with it, you can’t build it. There’s more points of failure.”

[…]  In Michigan, Brian Hitchcock, owner of MBH Trucking LLC, said he expects his freight transportation company to lose 40 percent in revenue because only five of his 30 drivers are vaccinated, leaving the others ineligible to haul diesel exhaust fuel back and forth from Ontario, Canada, to Michigan.

And it’s all because we can’t cross the border,” he said. “It’s affecting every sector of what we use in this country.”

Let’s look at one example from Canada.  Stats are courtesy of United Potato Growers of Canada.

This is essentially 8 million pounds of potatoes.  How does one move such a volume without truckers?

Canada’s imposition of the rule led to protests by truckers at certain border crossings.

Canada relented sort of.  Canadian citizens who were truckers coming back into the country would have to quarantine for 14 days.  This is bound to put some smaller trucking companies out of business since there won’t be enough drivers for them to continue to operate.

Let’s be reminded that all of this nonsense is over an infection that is essentially a bad cold.  In fact, for most people, early treatment with treatment protocols that include safe drugs like HCQ and Ivermectin wipes out the infection in less than a week.

Please be reminded just how insane this policy is.   If you are a non-citizen, driving an 18 wheeler, and attempting to cross at a border checkpoint you will be turned away if you do not show proof of “experimental drug inoculation.”  Remember the mRNA therapies being administered in the US are done so under an EUA.  They are considered experimental.

On the other side of this policy, if you are a Haitian, or Angolan, or even a jihadist crossing the border you are placed on an airplane at taxpayer expense and relocated somewhere in the interior of the United States to compete for the dwindling food supply caused by this ridiculous policy.  No jab needed nor given.

What is the bottom line?  Administration policy has consistently created upward pressure on prices.  This particularly idiotic policy will create substantial increases in transportation costs.  This is on top of all the other stupid and dangerous policy decisions of this administration.

Sundance notes:

Energy policy has driven up oil, fuel, packaging and gas prices.  Transportation costs have skyrocketed. Emission regulations have driven up port costs and delayed transportation fracturing the supply chain.  Vaccine mandates have hit the manufacturing and processing sectors.  Legislative policy and COVID spending have artificially inflated the economy.  Monetary policy has devalued the dollar and driven even higher inflation.

None of this was caused by COVID.  COVID is just the vehicle that the communists in our government are using to take over the country.  Nobody can be this stupid.  This is an intentional act on the part of those behind the curtain who are telling Biden what to do.

What will be next?  Undoubtedly in some areas of the country, leftist politicians will come out and ask for voluntary rationing of food on the grocery shelves.  Once the voluntary phase does not create a more “equitable” supply, those who have prepared for the coming food shortages, will be called “hoarders” as well as other less glamorous names.  I would not be surprised to see some politician of the left call people who have carefully marshalled their resources “domestic terrorists.”

As Sundance has noted many times:

Chasing socialism always creates an outcome where the expressed intent from government is NOT to buy stuff, rationing.  Socialism, or leftism in its modern form, always creates scarcity; it is the diametric outcome of a free capitalistic society.
