Was It Russian Aggression?

1 Comment on Was It Russian Aggression?

Mike Whitney has authored a thought-provoking article on the Russia-Ukraine situation.  Whitney draws comparisons and analogies to help to understand better what is really going on there.  This ought to be unsettling to anyone who is not completely brainwashed by the crap the media has been putting out.

Last December President Putin gave an interview that addressed the issues surrounding the Ukrainian situation.  Keep in mind that agreements reached in the 1990’s held that NATO would not expand eastward.  These agreements prohibited America from staging missiles on Russia’s doorstep.

To his credit, Bush Senior actually lived up to his agreement with Gorbachev and Yeltsin to not move NATO “one inch east” toward Russia, but this changed, beginning with Clinton and continuing down to the present day. NATO should have been abandoned by the mid-1990s, when it was clear that the Russians were not going to revert to Soviet-style politics, economics and philosophy. Their Warsaw Pact alliance had already dissolved; we should have reciprocated with a dissolution of NATO.  However, that did not happen.  Just the opposite took place.

Seven former Warsaw Pact countries entered NATO between 1999 and 2004. This culminated with NATO even *touching* the border of Russia directly in the form of Estonia and Latvia becoming NATO members in 2004. Russia has been progressively encircled within a smaller and smaller radius.

Putin noted:

“We are not threatening anyone.… We have made it clear that any further NATO movement to the east is unacceptable. There’s nothing unclear about this. We aren’t deploying our missiles to the border of the United States, but the United States IS deploying their missiles to the porch of our house. Are we asking too much? We’re just asking that they not deploy their attack-systems to our home…. What is so hard to understand about that?

Putin has said this for years.  He has been very patient with the failure involving the honoring of those agreements.  Apparently with the fall of the Soviet Union, we in America have come to believe that we can do anything without consideration for past agreements.  With the neocons in charge in Washington and Europe, we have entered a very dangerous situation.

Normal dialogue does not exist at this point in time.  Russia and America are two great countries that should be able to have a normal dialogue.  I believe that that was what PDJT was trying to accomplish when he met with Putin with only his translator and Putin’s translator being present.

Mike Whitney draws an analogy with a fictious set of Americans living in Mexico to illustrate what is happening in Ukraine.

Imagine if the Mexican army started bombarding enclaves of Americans living in Mexico with heavy artillery-rounds killing thousands and leaving thousands more wounded. What do you think Joe Biden would do?

Now one can argue that it would not be Biden actually making the decision and, of course, one would be correct.  However, even the vile people behind the curtain could not afford to just ignore this kind of situation.  The political fallout would be far worse than the Afghanistan debacle.

Whitney goes onto extend the analogy:

Let’s say, the US Intelligence agencies discovered that the Mexican government was not acting alone, but was being directed to kill and maim American ex-pats on orders from the Chinese Communist government in Beijing. Can you imagine that?

And the reason the Chinese government wants to kill Americans in Mexico is because they want to lure the US into a long and costly war that will “weaken” the US and pave way for its ultimate splintering into many pieces that China can control and exploit. Does any of this sound familiar? (Check out the Rand Strategy for weakening Russia here)

If you have not read the article by Manlio Dinucci on the Rand Strategy, I urge you to do so.  You may be shocked by what you find there.

Whitney goes onto add that China installed their own puppets in the Mexican government and armed and trained Mexican soldiers.

Whitney then asks:

Is such a scenario possible?

It is possible, in fact, this very same scenario is playing out right now in the Ukraine, only the perpetrator of the hostilities is the United States not China, and the target of this malign strategy is Russia not the US. Surprisingly, the Biden administration isn’t even trying to hide what they’re up-to anymore. They’re openly arming, training, funding, and directing Ukrainian troops to prosecute a war aimed at killing Russian soldiers and removing Putin from power. That’s the objective and everyone knows it.

I would add that it is the globalist neocons in America AND Europe who are behind this.  The media is working hand in glove with these foolish people engaged in this insanity.  The drumbeats for war have rarely been louder.

Those who manage America’s news diet realize that they can create acceptance of a morally corrupt course of action.  This is what they have done with the escalation of military violence directed towards Putin’s Russia. This is just one danger of the raw power that comes from a unified, militant, and ruthless cabal of media conglomerates.

Did Russia break international law with their invasion?

Whitney continues the analogy:

If the US deployed troops to Mexico to protect American expats from being bombarded by the Mexican army, would you regard that deployment as an ‘unprovoked aggression’ or a rescue mission?

Rescue mission, right? Because the primary intention was to save lives not seize the territory of another sovereign country.

Well, that’s what Putin was doing when he sent his tanks into Ukraine. He was trying stop the killing of civilians living in the Donbas whose only fault was that they were ethnic Russians committed to their own culture and traditions. Is that a crime?

These are not some wild-eyed musings of a far-right conspiracy nut.  Whitney supports his thesis with facts.  These facts include data provided by the Organization for Security and Co-operation (OSCE) who were positioned at the frontlines before Russia invaded.

Whitney notes:

Can you see the yellow dots? Those dots represent the artillery strikes that were documented in daily summaries by “observers of the Organization for Security and Co-operation (OSCE), positioned at the frontlines.” The vast majority of the strikes were in the area inhabited by Russian-speaking people who have been under military siege for the last 8 years. (14,000 ethnic Russians have been killed in the fighting since 2014.) The Minsk Agreements were drawn up to resolve the issues between the warring parties and end the hostilities, but the government in Kiev refused to implement the agreement. In fact, the former President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, even admitted that the treaty was just a vehicle for buying time until another full-scale offensive on the Donbas could be launched.

In short, the Ukrainian government never had any intention of reaching a peaceful settlement with leaders of the Donbas. Their goal was to intensify the conflict in order to provoke Russia and draw them into a protracted war that would exhaust their resources and collapse their economy. The long-range objective was to remove Putin from office and replace him with a Washington-backed stooge that would do as he was told. US officials– including Joe Biden- have even admitted that their plan involved regime change in Moscow.

This article does not address the number of ethnic Russians who have been and are continuing to be tortured by the neo-fascists of the Ukrainian army.  The UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights reported that members of the Azov Battalion were involved in various crimes including looting, unlawful detention, rape and torture.  Countless numbers of ethnic Russians have been tied to lampposts and whipped and beaten simply because they speak Russian.  Innumerable videos attest to this fact.

Whitney lays out the evidence from the OSCE.  This is a summary from Martyr Made’s Twitter feed.

Why do FACTS like this matter?  The European and American public have been sold a bill of goods.  Western media, who are little more than a propaganda arm of the globalists who control governments in Europe and America, will not report these facts.  They have trumpeted the “unprovoked aggression” story endlessly.  That is just BS.  Much of the American public has bought into these baseless lies.  The public has been corralled to support aggression against Russia for which there is no moral justification.

The public is being coerced to suffer for this corrupt enterprise.  And corrupt it is.  No oversight is being permitted into where the money is going that Washington is so cavalierly “sending to Ukraine.”

The globalists created this problem, this war.  Whitney noted:

They created the provocation that forced him to invade! They were bombing the hell out of the people Putin is obliged to protect. What else could he do? Any leader worth his salt would have done same thing.

And the reality is worse than that.  America and its NATO allies are state sponsors of terrorism.  This is called out as evil when Iran and others do it.  And it certainly is evil.  Why is it not evil when America does it?

It’s bad for the Ukrainian civilians caught in this mess. Biden and his handlers got their war. Now is kickback time. It is blood money. They don’t care. It is time to impeach the entire administration.  It is time that orange jump suits become the uniform of the day for these people who think nothing about provoking war around the globe.
