Odds & Ends

Socialism is failing in France.  Margaret Thatcher said it best, socialism only works until you run out of other people’s money.  French politicians had made promises over the years that could not be fulfilled.  Eventually the idea that everyone could be supported on the government dole was going to blow up.  Macron was installed as France’s leader so that the economy could be collapsed and taken over by the globalists.

Government-mandated benefits and restrictions made it very difficult for businesses there.  The government pension system was a Ponzi scheme.  There needed to be substantial number of workers paying into the system to keep the money flowing.  France’s pension system was teetering on insolvency.

Macron unilaterally decided to up the retirement age without input from the legislature.  A worker strike has ensued which has lasted over a week.  On Thursday, it turned violent.

The French Interior Ministry said 1.089 million protested across the country, including 119,000 in the capital which was a record since protests started in January. The CGT union said 3.5 million people marched in the country, equalling a previous high on March 7.

“I came here because I oppose this reform and I really oppose the fact that democracy no longer means anything,” Sophie Mendy, an administrative medical worker, told Reuters at the Paris rally. “We’re not being represented, and so we’re fed up.”

Sound familiar?

Remember when they said that Trump was causing the world to laugh at America?  Saudi TV ran this skit.  I suppose it could be called a documentary.

In a win for liberty and individual rights, President Joe Biden’s order that federal employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 was blocked Thursday by a federal appeals court.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans en banc rejected arguments that Biden, as the nation’s chief executive, has the same authority as the CEO of a private corporation to require that employees be vaccinated.

Opponents of the policy said it was an encroachment on federal workers’ lives that neither the Constitution nor federal statutes allow.

Is some trace of sanity returning to international athletics?  World Athletics has banned transgender women from competing in the female category at international events.

The governing body’s president, Lord Coe, said no transgender athlete who had gone through male puberty would be permitted to compete in female world ranking competitions after 31 March.

Only imbeciles consider allowing males into female sports.  I guess World Athletics has some in the governing board who are not imbeciles.

Remember when the Biden Regime said reports claiming they were seeking to ban gas stoves was a conspiracy theory?  Here’s the Energy Secretary on that matter.

What’s next?  Prohibiting heating your home with natural gas?

In an undercover video released Tuesday, New Mexicans learned why attempts to get education officials to listen to concerns as parents have been such an uphill battle: New Mexico state officials have trained teachers and school boards that parents have no rights when it comes to their kids.

“Parental rights end when you decide to send your kids to public school,” claimed attorney, Andrew Sanchez, who conducted a recent training session for New Mexico teachers and school board members in Bernalillo County.

Sanchez also attacked religious freedom and the founding fathers and mocked parents. He claimed that the radical ideology taught in schools is “simply civic and patriotic values common to all Americans of equity, justice, and equal treatments.”

Is it any wonder that New Mexico public education is dead last in the US?

Is Alvin Bragg getting the idea that he is expendable?  Bragg, the Manhattan DA trying desperately to get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, appears to be losing that battle. In the process Bragg appears to have lost the support of Senator Schumer (D-NY).  During a recent press conference, Senator Schumer was asked by a reporter “Do you have confidence in Alvin Bragg?”

Schumer responded, “It’s premature to comment on what’s happening, and we’ll have to wait and see what he does.”  Huh?  These two were birthday buddies.
