Most people know by now the Governor of New Mexico decided to ignore the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. On Friday Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) used a public health order to ban firearms in Albuquerque. The move has generated widespread criticism from both Democrats and Republicans amid concerns that the order violates the Second Amendment.
Local police have come out against the measure. Both the Albuquerque Police Department and the local county sheriff have vowed not to enforce it. Sheriff John Allen, a Democrat, said he did not feel comfortable enforcing a measure that violates the Second Amendment. He was also concerned about putting his officers in danger of liability for attempting to enforce an unconstitutional order.
“While I understand and appreciate the urgency, the temporary ban challenges the foundation of our constitution, which I swore an oath to uphold. I am wary of placing my deputies in positions that could lead to civil liability conflicts, as well as the potential risks posed by prohibiting law-abiding citizens from their constitutional right to self-defense.”
“This order will not do anything to curb gun violence other than punish law-abiding citizens from their constitutional right to self-defense,” he said. “I do not want to have political violence towards my deputies or here in Bernalillo County. I have enough violence here.”
The Democratic Attorney General of New Mexico echoed these sentiments. Will wonders never cease! Democrats who speak the truth instead of following some made-up narrative that makes no sense.
The people took action over the weekend. Although the local TV station on Sunday called it a protest of a few dozen people, in actuality, several hundred people showed up visibly armed. Albuquerque’s crime rate went down with all those guns visible.
The message was clear. “We will not comply!”
Let’s be reminded. Grisham is not doing this in a vacuum. There is zero chance that this was not orchestrated from DC. The Communists Democrats are trying to get some metrics on who and how many will stand up against clearly unconstitutional actions of government.
The whole COVID scam gave them some insights in this regard. This is another attempt to see how many people will be sheep and, probably more importantly, who won’t.
A temporary restraining order against this unconstitutional action has been requested from the courts. An emergency hearing is being requested to combat the imminent harm that may occur to people who are denied their constitutional right to self-defense.
There are some things that need to be watched here.
Will the law enforcement people who refused to follow this unconstitutional order find themselves in the crosshairs of the DOJ and FBI? How long will it be before some charges are trumped up against these people because they refused to bow down and kiss the jackboots in DC? Will the people who showed up in Albuquerque on Sunday be classified by the FBI as domestic terrorists? How many of them will be charged with insurrection and jailed for years before their trials? How will the courts rule on guns being a public health emergency?
Thoughts that run through an idle mind. Isn’t attempting to overthrow a provision of the Constitution the same as attempting to overthrow the government of the United States? Is Governor Grisham guilty of insurrection?
