From a press release by the House Judiciary Committee: “New documents obtained by the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government reveal that the Federal government flagged terms like ‘MAGA’ and ‘TRUMP’ for financial institutions if Americans used those phrases when completing transactions. Individuals who shopped at stores like Cabela’s or Dick’s Sporting Goods, or purchased religious texts like a bible, may also have had their transactions flagged.”  ...

The Carnival Comes to DC

On Thursday, the carnival will descend on Washington DC.  As with all carnivals, there will be the usual flimflam acts.  These are acts designed to deceive the public and pretend that something is true when it is not.  And just where will these carnival acts take place?  Why, in the US Capitol Building, of course.  They will be part of the State of the Union address from the most feeble-minded President in US history.

SCOTUS ruled 9-0 that the Colorado Supreme Court did not have the authority to keep PDJT off Colorado’s primary ballot via Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

According to the Supreme Court, States may only disqualify officeholders or candidates from state office. This power doesn’t extend to federal elections or officers.  To quote, “Nothing in the Constitution delegates to the States any power to enforce Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates.”

A Win

Greg Stenstrom and Leah Hoopes, alongside former President Donald Trump, emerged victorious in a high-profile defamation case in Pennsylvania. The lawsuit, known as “SAVAGE VS TRUMP ETAL,” alleged malicious and defamatory statements against the Plaintiff, James Savage, following the 2020 Presidential election.  To my knowledge, it is the only “election” case to get to the discovery stage.  All other cases were dismissed without prejudice based on procedural issues like standing to bring a case.
