Ignorance Or Desperation

Recently while being interviewed on CNN, Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) was asked by host Kasie Hunt about the claim that the Iranian regime should not have a nuclear weapon.  Hunt pointed out that even under Obama’s JCPOA, Iran was sprinting toward weapons capability.  This approach by Hunt shows that even a partisan network like CNN has accepted the fact of Iran trying to develop such a weapon.

Moulton’s response either displays his absolute ignorance about the JCPOA and its aftereffects or is an absolutely desperate attempt to rewrite history.

According to Moulton, “The JCPOA, the very first line of it said Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and they were further away from enriching enough uranium to actually produce one than they are today.”

One small problem.  The very first line of the JCPOA is actually about who signed this disaster of an agreement.  Iran’s pledge to not seek a nuclear weapon was buried in clause three of the document.  Iran never had any intention of honoring this “promise.”  By their own code of theology, they are allowed to lie to non-believers in Islam whenever they feel the need to.  Obama should have known this.

Moulton went on to talk about “intrusive inspections” and “electronic monitoring.”  Were these intrusive inspections the ones that let Iran self-sample at the Parchin site?  How did these intrusive inspections miss the secret nuclear archive in Tehran that Israel exposed in 2018?

Let’s be reminded that Iran swore up and down that their uranium was only for peaceful purposes.  It was recently reported by officials in Iran that they had 430 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium.  There is no purpose for such enrichment other than a nuclear weapon.

Obama was desperate for a foreign policy win.  The mullahs in Iran knew this.  They shook him down.  They managed to get Obama to send them piles of cash ($1.7 billion), sanctions relief that allowed Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis to be bankrolled.  In addition, there were tens of billions in assets that became unfrozen.  In return, the mullahs pinky swore they would not go after a nuclear weapon at least until 2025 when the agreement was scheduled to run out.

Yes, the agreement had an expiration date.  After that, the mullahs were free to pursue nuclear weaponry.  These are the people that have expressed for decades that they would destroy Israel and destroy America.

Is Moulton unaware of the threats?  It is hard to understand how he could not be aware.  Is his tactic in this interview displaying the absolute desperation that is inhabiting Democratic ranks because they have no coherent policy positions?

Moulton sounds more like Iran’s press secretary than a working member of the House of Representatives.  I wonder what places like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel think about this idiot.  Moulton is just another embarrassment from Massachusetts.
