Once again, the Democrats prove there is no low that they will not go to in order to stay in power. The NYTimes is reporting that Democrats are discussing replacing the entire Virginia Supreme Court over the recent ruling that invalidated their redistricting plan.
Please be reminded that the Democrats violated Virginia’s state constitution in passing a change to the Constitution. Virginia requires all such changes to be voted on prior to an election and then again after an election. The Democrats push to change the state’s House districts was passed by the state legislative bodies after 40% of Virginia’s voters had already voted in the recent election.
Let’s be reminded that this is a liberal court. How would they get rid of the Virginia Supreme Court? The idea would involve passing a new law requiring state Supreme Court justices to retire at age 54. The current retirement age is 73. This would allow Democrats to replace all the current members. The new justices could then rehear the redistricting case and overturn the previous decision.
Democrats are framing this as a lawful way to get the will of the people enacted as expressed in the recent vote.
Let’s look at that vote. The Democrats spent upwards of $70 million dollars on this referendum for redistricting despite their own party members telling them that what they were doing would not stand constitutional scrutiny. Despite this outlandish amount of money, the referendum barely squeaked by. And it needed not one, not two, but three “F” bumps in the ballot counting to pass.
For those not familiar with “F” bumps, this is where there is a surge in ballots where all or almost all are on one side of the question. This was prominent in the fraud that took place the 2020 presidential election.
U.S. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who took part in the private conversation where the idea of replacing the court was discussed, said they are “exploring all options” to overturn the court’s decision. At least, in that statement, Jeffries is telling the truth. The fact that this would demonstrate that the Democrats will do anything to stay in power or be returned to power seems to have escaped the cognitive abilities of Jeffries. The idea that this is being openly reported in the NYTimes just shows how tone deaf the Democrats have become.
If this doesn’t scream corruption, I do not know what does. Is this the case of the court won’t let us cheat, so let’s find a way to cheat harder? Would this be considered an insurrection? Asking for a friend.
What we are seeing here is fear. The Democrats are on the cusp of an existential problem where they are looking at losing more power in Congress. Desperate people take desperate measures. Just how desperate are the Democrats?
