Great Britain continues down the slope into liberalism hell. From the Telegraph: “Air conditioning torn from homes under net zero clampdown.”
Homeowners are being forced to tear out air conditioning from their private properties under climate laws, despite rising temperatures.
Council planning officers ordered residents to remove air-con units over fears they produce too much carbon dioxide, stating they should only be used as a “last resort”.
The net zero clampdown is part of building regulations that state “active cooling” should only ever be allowed when all other means of “passive cooling”, such as opening windows or using fans, have been exhausted.
This is based on more of that global warming nonsense that has been sold to the people by high-level scam artists. These left-wing busybodies believe that they should control how people live and breathe. Whether you can air condition your home should be left up to the government. What could possibly go wrong with that approach?
At least one Tory called out this insanity.
Claire Coutinho, the shadow energy secretary, said: …
“We have to get out of this miserabilist net zero mindset which says that Britain alone has to stay stuck in the dark ages and can’t enjoy the modern conveniences that are completely normal in other countries.”
The World Cup has introduced this normal way of life in the South to British fans. To say that they are enthralled would be a huge understatement. I wonder what will happen when these people return home. Will the EU pass a law stating that no one under the age of 50 is allowed to visit America?
Over in France, a French woman was given a six-month suspended sentence and was fined 3,000 euros after she was assaulted by a Tunisian “migrant.” Her crime? The woman appeared on French TV and, while discussing her ordeal, said “the main danger for women in France is Black African and Arab immigrant men”
She was then charged with “incitement to racial hatred.”
Hmmm. So, telling the truth in France gets one arrested and fined.
Let’s be reminded that what happens in other Five Eyes countries is often a prelude to the same thing happening in this country. I think France needs that pesky First Amendment.
