Gabbard Resigns

On her last day as Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released alarming evidence that the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Anthony Fauci, lied -repeatedly- to congress, the media and the American people. {ODNI Link Here}

Tulsi Gabbard dropped all pretenses and showed that the “never-before-seen” files allege that Fauci “worked with politicized career leadership in the Intelligence Community (IC) to suppress the truth about his actions, the virus’ lab-leak origins, and his role in directing U.S. funding for this dangerous research that caused immeasurable harm and countless lost lives.” These communications further unveil Fauci’s “direct role in influencing and manipulating IC assessments on COVID-19.” It includes that Fauci allegedly “lied to Congress in 2024” by denying under oath any knowledge of or participation “in discussions with intelligence officials about viral research.”

Fauci was an early opponent of the theory that the Covid outbreak resulted from a leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. Records released in the years since the pandemic’s outbreak have indicated that Fauci instructed his then-right-hand man, David Morens, to speak with corporate media in an apparent attempt to downplay this idea.

The Justice Department recently indicted Morens for allegedly partaking in an unlawful “scheme” to avoid open records requests related to Covid-19 research grants.

Gabbard:  “The Covid-19 pandemic caused tremendous hardship and pain for millions of our fellow Americans and for countless people around the world. After years of lies, censorship, and cover ups, the American people deserve transparency, truth, and accountability.  The tactics used to hide the truth are straight from the deep state playbook: politicized self-serving leaders like Dr. Fauci covered up their own wrongdoing and abuses of power, manipulated intelligence, lied to Congress, and undermined a duly elected President by restricting his access to vital facts needed to keep the country safe.”

Gabbard also discussed an organized effort to derail whistleblowers and to retaliate against truth-seekers.  Here are some examples that have been referred to IC Inspector General.

  • A contractor was terminated just days after coming forward to ODNI as a whistleblower.

  • Managers reminded analysts who advocated for the lab-leak hypothesis that leadership would determine which analysts would be promoted. The message was clear: disagreement with the manipulated finding would derail careers.

  • Senior leaders allegedly set up roadblocks for whistleblowers, removing anonymity from the complaint process by insisting managers or attorneys be present at ODNI meetings, creating an atmosphere of intimidation.

There are some 1600 pages that have been released.  There are a raft of people who are implicated in this massive cover-up.

Now let’s examine these recent developments inside the saga of Gabbard’s replacement.  As most of the country knows Bill Pulte (that’s the finance guy) was put forth as an acting DNI until a replacement could be confirmed.  Although Pulte could not be the DNI (he does not have the requisite national security experience), he is eligible to be the acting DNI under current law since he is a confirmed administration officer.

This caused a wholesale meltdown among the elite DC politicians.  The Republicans had concerns and the Democrats had a fit.

Senate Intelligence Committee Vice-Chairman Mark Warner could not contain himself and used his time on camera to question Secretary Bessent about something far away from Bessent’s sphere of influence.  Warner began actually physically shaking and grasping for words to describe his outrage, his apoplexy and fury at the audacity of President Trump to appoint Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence.

This is the “gears of government” reacting to an iron wrench being thrown into their midst.  Does Warner have more to fear than most Senators?

Sundance:

There is a particular stupidity within Washington DC, a genuine blind spot they don’t even notice exists, when it comes to issues attached to the Intelligence Community.

The bipartisan knuckleheads are so fraught with self-interest and the need for control, they cannot fathom how Bill Pulte would be elevated to Acting Director of National Intelligence just so existing Deputy Director Aaron Lucas doesn’t have to get bogged down in the quicksand of bureaucracy.

Pulte can attend the meetings, summits, foreign ministerial gatherings, go to the briefings etc. and keep Aaron Lucas completely unencumbered to continue the work begun by DNI Tulsi Gabbard.

Of course, there is much more that is not being spoken about here.  In his finance job, Pulte has referred various progressive luminaries for mortgage fraud prosecution, including Senator Adam Schiff (D-Ca.), New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Fed governor Lisa Cook. This has “disgruntled” Democrats.

Why?

Congress was preparing to vote to reauthorize FISA, the controversial law allowing warrantless surveillance of foreigners overseas. The actual problems with FISA are legion, but the only problem mentioned by WaPo —about a law Democrats loved while bugging Trump officials, but that is now keeping progressive party chiefs up at night— is that “those intercepts sometimes collect data from communications involving U.S. citizens.”  In fact, the number of illegal uses of FISA by Democrats are legion.

But now the acting DNI will be able to read and listen to Democrat politicians’ chats with foreign actors.  And, under existing rules for acting positions, Pulte can be there for seven months.

Pulte is remaining in his current jobs on the financial side.  Bill Pulte already regulates institutions that oversee a large share of U.S. mortgages, giving him access (directly or via agency tools such as anti‑fraud analytics) to extraordinarily detailed, often nonpublic financial and property data on elites and institutions.

Layer on top of that his new ODNI role, which coordinates foreign‑intelligence collection and analysis, including programs that sometimes sweep in the communications and financial dealings of U.S. citizens talking to foreigners, and suddenly the same hard‑charging operator willing to wield mortgage records against the Administration’s political enemies can, in principle, cross‑reference housing, credit, and ownership patterns with intelligence‑grade information about foreign contacts, shell structures, and illicit funding streams.  No wonder the Dems were in true meltdown mode.

With all the weeping and gnashing of teeth going on, Trump decided to nominate a permanent replacement for Gabbard.  Jay Clayton’s nomination was met with hosannas and an alacrity to get him confirmed that was simply astonishing.  I guess the deep state actors still within the IC put maximum pressure on the Senate to get Clayton in place before Pulte could do anything.

Of course, this exposed the Senate as an institution that is opposed to PDJT despite having a Republican majority.

Then PDJT pulled the plug.  Clayton’s nomination is “stalled.”  FISA is still not renewed.  Senators are having a fit over that.  Trump asked that any renewal be connected to the passage of the SAVE America Act.

Senate Majority leader John Thune appeared to be confused by the President’s actions.  Thune says, “ask the White House,” when questioned about the status of Jay Clayton’s DNI nomination.  According to Thune, “I don’t have good answers for these questions — those are probably better asked of the president and his team.  We are just executing or trying to execute on what they had asked us to.”

Really?  How many of Trump’s nominations are still held up in the Senate?  How many have been “stalled” by Thune?  How long have those nominations been out there?  But Thune is just trying to “help” the President.  Of course, if Thune really wanted to help the President, Thune could just put the Senate into recess.  That would allow the President to make recess appointments.

I am reminded of the appointment of Ric Grenell during PDJT’s first term.  Trump wanted John Radcliffe to be DNI. McConnell said Radcliffe could not be recommended by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI).  So, Trump appointed Grenell as acting DNI.  After six months of Grenell, the Senate suddenly found that Radcliffe was okay to be DNI.

I wonder how long Pulte will need to be the acting DNI, before the Senate decides to reconsider the SAVE America Act.  Thune claims that it is dead and there is nothing he can do to revive it.  Will the Democrats have a change of heart?  Will the SAVE America Act have its own resurrection?

It is hard to believe that the Dems would act to pass the bill.  It would seriously impair their ability to commit the various types of election fraud that they have been engaged in.  But perhaps some of their members being exposed to potential treason/sedition charges would cause a change of heart.

I think we are about to see a replay of the Ric Grenell story with Bill Pulte.  Trump has publicly told Pulte to start firing people.  I am certain that Lukas, the Deputy DNI, has a long list.  What will be the approach?  Who will be first?  Will there be charges from the DOJ?

I think it is time to stock up of some popcorn.
