They keep changing the label. The label lies. The product never changes.
A CNN poll finds that about a third of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults now identify as democratic socialists. Call them communists and they act insulted. They do not understand what the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) stand for.

The DSA’s new “Workers Deserve More” platform calls for eliminating the U.S. Senate and replacing the president and the Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress. It calls for abolishing the Electoral College too. The above narrative is not something invented by some right-wing site.
When Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream walked DSA National Co-Chair Megan Romer through the list, abolishing the Senate, replacing the presidency and the Supreme Court, abolishing ICE, defunding the Pentagon, Romer confirmed every single item on air. They are not hiding it. They are campaigning on it.
Candidates seeking a DSA endorsement are now expected to accept and promote the platform and align their own campaigns with its contents. It is a loyalty test and it is has produced results in Democratic primaries.
This is the Communist method of governance. This is the Politiburo. Think about what “subordinate to Congress” actually means. One chamber writes the laws, picks the executive, picks the judges, and answers to nobody. No Senate to cool the passions of the moment. No independent court to strike down an unconstitutional law. No president with a veto. This is how the old Soviet Union was run. This is how China runs today.
James Madison warned about exactly this. The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands “may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”
The rest of the DSA platform deserves sunlight too. It would extend voting rights to non-citizens. So foreigners would get to decide the direction of the country. The DSA would also shift the country’s largest private businesses to government control. This is known as nationalizing companies. It is what all communist countries do. Romer also spoke about eliminating borders and much of the prison system as a long-term plan. Even communist countries don’t go that far.
That is why the name game does not matter. Socialism does not become something gentler because you bolt “democratic” onto the front of it. The end game is the same everywhere it has been tried. Power is concentrated in the hands of a few, there is no accountability, corruption exists everywhere within those at the top and poverty is the rule for everyone underneath.
The Founders gave us checks and balances because they knew human nature. The DSA wants them gone because they know human nature too. They just plan to be the ones holding the power.
As it was said, “You can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig” which means for those who lack understanding, you can call yourself a democratic socialist but you are still a communist. Remember, if it smells and looks like a skunk, it is a skunk.
