Ken Blackwell has published a piece on how the Biden administration gutted the HHS office that was responsible for overseeing the $2.2 trillion a year in taxpayer-funded health care payments. Health and Human Services processes about 4 million payment transactions a day across 50 states and five territories. When Xavier Becerra took over the department under the Biden administration, 80 people were assigned to program integrity. Becerra moved 76 of them out. This opened the floodgates for fraud.

“My predecessor, Xavier Becerra, when he came into my agency, there were only 80 people in program integrity, 80 people. This is for 50 states and five territories. These are the people who are monitoring $2.2 trillion dollars in payments annually from my agency!”

“And it was an invitation for the fraudsters to come in and steal everything!”
Most of the country has heard about the fraud in Minnesota that was uncovered by Nick Shirley. Most of that was perpetrated by Somalis living there. RFK, Jr also pointed to Los Angeles, where his department has shut down hospice operations that billed the government roughly $6,000 a month for patients who never existed. This hospice fraud does not yet have a final total for how big it was.
Kennedy described tens of billions of dollars in Los Angeles County lost to fake medical equipment claims and phony autism services, “all stolen because nobody was minding the STORE!”
The criminals figured out nobody was watching and cashed in.
Let’s be reminded of one more thing. Xavier Becerra is the Democratic nominee for governor of California, and his name is on the ballot this November. He wants the keys to a state budget bigger than most countries run, after leaving six people to guard $2.2 trillion. What could possibly go wrong?
