Throughout the election campaign the Democrats downplayed the “I” word, that is, impeachment. They knew from their polling that talking about impeachment would hurt their chances in the mid-term elections.

They also whined about the lack of civility in Washington claiming that only returning Democrats to power would restore civility. How’s that working out now that the Democrats control the House?

As has been pointed out before, the left wants the American people to accept political violence as normal. Hatred and calls for violence from left wing activists are now so routine that few prominent people bother to condemn them.

Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi have constantly been urging their supporters to confront those who do not agree with their Marxist philosophy, to get in their faces in public, to harass them in restaurants, at department stores, at gas stations. Waters even extended this to harassing people in their homes. The goal is to silence those who disagree with them.

NBC Reporter Breaks From The Party Line

NBC & MSNBC News veteran correspondent William Arkin announced his resignation effective Friday over what he described as “Trump circus” reporting that is increasingly favored over real journalism.

Arkin is no supporter of PDJT. However, he said part of his reason for leaving was the network’s obsession with opposing the president at every turn. In particular, Arkin, who is anti-war, notes that the MSM automatically oppose any and all peace initiatives coming from PDJT. He indicates that the MSM have become little more than mouthpieces for the warfare state. ...

There are good people who honestly want to believe the our DOJ is not corrupt, that statements by PDJT and others that a swamp exists within the federal bureaucracy are just wild outbursts designed to elicit votes in an election. Or perhaps machinations trying to cover up malfeasance.

An Internet Apocalypse was forecasted when the FCC under the Trump administration announced it was rolling back the “Net Neutrality” rules put in place under the Obama administration in 2015.

This abandonment of government regulation of the Internet was supposed to kill the Internet as we knew it. But as we take a closer look a year after the regulations were abolished , what has actually happened? Has the Internet died? Have big companies raised their rates? Has competition been killed? Will the Michael Flynn case be the undoing of Mueller and his band of #NeverTrumpers? More info trickled out today that showed that it took three weeks for the interview notes (FD-302) to be approved by Andrew McCabe. This was a long time for a simple transcription of the results of an interview. It certainly appears that McCabe had some hand in shaping how the interview was put down on paper.

While not completely clear, it also appears that the second agent’s notes have yet to be produced. This appears to be in violation of the judge’s order to produce such items for his review. Gregg Re reported: ...

Michael Cohen’s Sentencing Memo

Michael Cohen is back in the news. The Justice Department has released his sentencing memo. Cohen is pleading guilty to a variety of felonies including campaign finance law violations. It certainly seems clear from a casual reading of the memo that Cohen had engaged in fraud for profit to a substantial degree. Deception certainly seems to have been a chief component of his work life.

Should he be going to jail? Based on the fraud and tax evasion charges, it would appear so. However, he also appears to be pleading guilty to a crime that did not occur. Now it is not unusual for individuals to plead guilty to avoid potentially longer sentences even when they did not commit the crime alleged. And this seems to be the case here. ...

For too many years we have had leaders who were afraid to recognize Christianity as a critical religion in America. This has been particularly true when it came to Christmas. There has been a big push helped along by a corrupt media to try to take Christ out of the season. It became “Happy Holidays” rather than “Merry Christmas.” It has been made to appear that the holiday season had nothing to do with the birth of our Lord and Savior more than 2000 years ago.

Perhaps the architectural blueprint for a lot of this type of activity occurred ten years ago in Alaska. At that time Senator Ted Stevens-R was running for re-election. The Democrats abused the legal system until Stevens’ name and career were utterly destroyed.

Campus Free Speech

As I discussed in a post last week, political correctness is about rigidity of thinking. The idea is to censor people’s thinking along fairly rigid and specific lines. By not allowing thinking that is outside the box, the hope is to control the ways people see what is around them. In other words this is a method to alter people’s perception of reality.

If a person dares to speak/think outside accepted norms, the left will label him/her. The form of that label will be will depend on the circumstances that surround the stepping outside the box. The label will present the individual as a deplorable. They may call the person a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, an islamophobe, etc. Whatever it will be, it will be such as to present the person as evil in some way.

In this day and age there is no area of American life with more rigidity of thinking than on our college campuses. The fact is that 1 in 6 of America’s 400 top colleges have “free speech zones.” “Free speech zones”—the name sounds good, right? The sad truth is that free speech zones are far from free. Many college campuses restrict free speech solely to these areas, meaning that the rest of campus is not open for expression. Not only that but many of the so-called free speech zones have unduly restrictive regulations on their use which include pre-registration, limited use and limited areas.
