An explosion shook the area near Iran’s main nuclear-enrichment plant late on Saturday. The blast was heard in the area of Badroud, which is around 12 miles from the Natanz nuclear site. Natanz is Iran’s main nuclear enrichment site.
Iran didn’t place blame on any foreign government and sent differing messages about what actually happened after reports of the explosion circulated in local media. One report had a missile system being test fired. A second report claimed that a hostile drone had activated defense systems which resulted in the explosions seen and heard.
Supposedly the explosion caused no casualties or financial damage.
A few things that seem odd. First, the explosion was heard and felt 12MILES AWAY. That seems to be a long distance for shooting down a hostile drone or for the simple test activation of a defense system.
Second, stating that there was “no financial damage” is an odd announcement in and of itself. Why mention financial damage at all?
So, just what happened out near the Natanz facility?
