Last week on the morning before the runoff election for the US Senate in Mississippi a number of hangman’s nooses were found hanging from trees near the State Capitol in Jackson. In addition, “hate” messages were found nearby.
Of course, this led to an immediate meltdown by the MSM and elite Democrats. Leftists knew immediately who was behind the horrific display: white supremacists who supported Sen. Hyde-Smith in her runoff election against Democrat Mike Espy.
So what was the real story? As it turns out, the “hate” signs clearly identified who was responsible for putting up the nooses. Was it the KKK? No, it wasn’t. Was it some other white supremacist group? No, it wasn’t. Was it some other right wing group? No, it wasn’t.
Mike Espy, the Democratic candidate, was asked if he blamed Hyde-Smith for the nooses and said that he “can’t connect that to her. I wouldn’t do that. That’d be unfair.”
It turns out it would have been categorically unfair. Signs placed near the nooses but reported only as “hate” messages by the Associated Press and others in the MSM, had plenty of information about who hung the nooses and why. But this did not advance the media’s agenda that the GOP is a party of racists bent on eliminating all non-whites in the country.
So info on the content of the signs did not appear until nearly 12 hours after news of the display went viral. The signs indicated that the nooses were part of a protest by Democrats, implying that Hyde-Smith was a racist and stating that “times haven’t changed;” meaning that lynchings were still a problem in Mississippi and that whites are racists.
As Jay Baker over at Personal Liberty noted,
Is it any wonder that people do not trust the main stream media? Promoting fake news like this does no one any good. However, this is the modern Democratic Party. As Nancy Pelosi has said, smearing your opponent with something you know is false, is an acceptable campaign strategy.
And the Democrats are now in control of the House of Representatives. God help the country. It is clear that there is no low that the Democrats and their friends in the MSM will not stoop to.
