New Jersey has a problem and, surprise, surprise, it deals with illegal aliens voting.
Last week PDJT delivered a prime-time address to the nation. Much of it was about vulnerabilities in our electoral process. Did he rant and rave about 2020? PDJT did not. PDJT did release millions of pages of documents that had been declassified that supported the claims he made. How did the media react?
To start with three networks, ABC, NBC & CNN, refused to air Trump’s prime-time address claiming his statements “could not be trusted.” CNN’s John King explained that the network was “not going to take it live” because Trump “has a history of misleading.” Instead, CNN would monitor the speech and reduce it to a collection of bullet points for its audience.
This is what happens in Canada. Only there the government decides what the public is allowed to hear.
The gist of the media response was what might be called Stage 2. The media had to move off of Stage 1 since the facts revealed showed that there was some substance there. In fact, there is a lot of substance there.
The NYTimes did not like the speech and did everything they could to diminish the President’s address. It started with the sub-headline to their article: “Documents released by the Trump administration to support the president’s claims did not back up his most aggressive statements.”
How did the NYTimes approach this subject? Did they provide the transcript of the topic where they felt the President overstepped? Did they then provide the documents that the President said supported such a claim as was made? Did they then follow this up with their rebuttal which cited different facts that undermined the claim?
The answer to all of these pertinent questions would be a resounding “No!” Let’s look at one example. This is the one related to China’s pilfering of voter data.
The Times reported that the intelligence community knew, but officially said nothing, that “China had bought, stolen or hacked tens of millions of voter data files across 18 states.”
Jeff Childers notes:
Come on, Times. “Tens of millions?” What the documents actually showed is that China bought, stole, or hacked voter files on two hundred and twenty million Americans. I’m not sure, because I am only a lawyer, not a mathematician, but since kids and many chronic videogame players don’t vote, 220 million could include pretty much all of us.
And that is how Barnes and Haberman repeatedly summarized and downplayed Trump’s evidence. They took every opportunity to put their fat thumbs unfairly on the scale, using their words —not Trump’s— and their data— not Trump’s. They shrunk whatever Trump claimed. Shrinked it. Whatever. Honey, I shrank the evidence.
Had they used correct grammar, the reporters should have said that China got “hundreds of millions” of U.S. voter files, not tens. The Times’s choice to use the inaccurate and misleading “tens of millions” was not a slip-up, typo, or boo-boo. It was intentional, designed to miniaturize Trump’s most important claim into something that, while bad, wasn’t really that bad. Could have been worse.
But it literally couldn’t have been worse. China got it all. In other words, the Times was deliberately misleading its readers. Misleading readers about elections.
This is what the media and others do during Stage 2. The attempt is to downplay everything and get people to move along and forget this story. This is why the CNN, NBC and ABC did not televise the address. Too many people would have heard the actual words. A virus would be spreading that would undermine the narrative that Illegal alien voting and other electoral issues are just so small as to be non-existent. (And there is a lot more that PDJT addressed.)
How does all of this relate to New Jersey?
The idea of motor voter registration has always been a problem. Multiple states have uncovered “glitches” in the software that allowed people who were not eligible to vote to be added to the voter rolls. Big media has always denied this. On Tuesday Governor Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ) threw a hand grenade into the middle of that narrative.
Governor Sherrill:
“Last week I learned that a serious software error in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System led to the registration of roughly 6,600 people who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens between June 2023 and June 2024, almost three years prior to my taking office. These individuals answered “no” when asked on a keypad whether they were a U.S. citizen when applying for drivers’ licenses and identification cards, but through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway.
This happened under the previous administration and, upon learning this information, I immediately ordered my chief counsel to launch an investigation to get to the bottom of what occurred. I also ordered the removal of any residents from our voter rolls who were erroneously added between June 2023 and June 2024. The new MVC Administrator that I appointed has begun the process of replacing the vendor responsible for administering the system.”
Of course, the governor is pointing outside the political establishment as the source of the problem. But the tech company, IDEMIA, told the New York Post that New Jersey officials had access to the same information on the noncitizens “but apparently registered them to vote anyway.”
“The 6,600 records submitted to the [MVC] and Division of Elections contained correct information according to the design specifications as set out by the state,” Lisa Shoemaker, an IDEMIA spokeswoman, told the Post on Wednesday. “All 6,600 individuals indicated ‘Yes’ to wanting to register to vote and ‘NO’ to being a US Citizen,” she added.
BTW 6,600 should just be considered a floor for the actual number of illegal aliens who are registered to vote in NJ. Department of Homeland Security reviews found more than 35,000 potential noncitizens on New Jersey’s voter rolls.
The compelling question here is why now? What would force a blue-state governor to “confess” something like this right before the midterms especially since several hundred od the had actually voted? What were the circumstances that caused Gov. Sherrill to “learn about it a week ago?”
The short answer is: she “learned” about it when the feds and her own Attorney General put New Jersey on the spot over noncitizen voting. Governor Sherrill, confronted with the possibility of criminal prosecution by the DOJ for the error and the cover-up, came clean, confirming the largest number of admitted illegal votes by any state official in history.
So, illegal voting in federal elections which, according to the Democrats and their media buddies was inconceivable just last week is not inconceivable anymore. The impossibility narrative has been shattered into a thousand pieces. And it was done by a blue state governor.
This is a significant change to the political landscape. The debate must now, of necessity, be how often does this happen and is there any level that we will tolerate?
The timing here is fortuitous. Once again it appears that Trump is “just lucky.”
