Right To Life

In this day and age there is clearly an increasingly callous disregard for life. This is evidenced over and over in mass shootings regardless of the reasons behind them.  One such event happened in Christchurch, New Zealand recently.  It is also evidenced in unrestricted abortion and in denying newborns life-saving medical care.

House Democrats once again blocked a vote to protect newborn babies.  This was the 19th time the Democrats have done this. This had occurred after Virginia’s Democratic Governor Ralph Northam, who has other scandals to deal with, actually went on a radio talk show to support such a horrendous idea.  Obviously this was a trial balloon to see how Americans would react to such an idea.  Since then House Democrats will not allow a resolution protecting newborns to come to the floor of the House for a vote. This was also after 44 Senate Democrats had voted to support the killing of newborns who have survived an abortion.  See the list below.

What are the Democrats afraid of?  Providing care to a newborn (American or foreign) should not be a matter of debate. Preventing infanticide and protecting the rights of all infants should be a no-brainer. The right to life is enshrined in our country’s founding.  It has reached the point where House Republicans who bring up such a call for a vote are having their mics cut off.

Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., chairman of the Republican Study Committee, said:

“This bill simply affords infants born alive during a failed abortion attempt the same care any other newborn would receive. I cannot comprehend how any person could justify standing in the way of these children and the life-saving care of a physician—but that is the position of today’s Democratic party.”

The rights we have as human beings are given by God, and therefore, are inviolable and irrevocable.  The role of our government is to safeguard those rights.  And the most fundamental of those rights is the RIGHT TO LIFE.

Perhaps it is time for Americans to demand a vote on whether their representatives believe the right to life applies to all Americans or to just those who support a particular ideology.
